Good price and location. No luxury, but wifi works, safe works, compact but big enough, breakfast decent, staff friendly. Not a place to take that special person on a special trip, but a great option if you are looking to not spend too much and be sure of the necessities.

Hotel is clean, comfortable, and modern. I was there twice with2 different rooms. The first night I had a nice large room but a horrible bathroom. I don't like the old fashioned European showers where you must hold on the the shower head the whole time. The second night there was a hook for the shower head but the a/c didn't work

We arrive a very rude woman who tells us the air con isn't working but will be shortly. We find our own way to a boiling hot dirty room that when we open our windows the noise and honking is deafing . After a terrible mosquito attached night . We head down stairs to our rude front desk lady that needs to know our room number ( as if u would stay here […] if u hadn't already pre paid . Went and enjoyed the sites of Marseille . Asked the new guy on the desk is the air con fixed (29 degrees again at 9 30 pm) he said no sorry mam there is no part and no Idea when it will be fixed . Honesty yay. We are checking out the lift doesn't work properly (so doesn't work all the time) we get our luggage downstairs from the 4th floor to the rude lady and insists we haven't prepaid and as I said I have and would definately not pay again . Given the price and location, I wasn't expecting a lot from this hotel. It's only a short 10ish minute walk to the waterfront/tourist areas. The pictures looked good, but it seemed too good to be true. I had a double standard room, overlooking the courtyard, which meant it was very quiet. Yes, the room was narrow at only 7 feet, but long enough to move around and the bathroom was big. Plenty of hot water, plenty of water pressure. The TV was a great hi-def, the bedding was super comfy, toiletries were kept stocked, the refrigerator worked great and […] the room safe was fine. My only issues: the AC did not work very well, no drawers for your things, and the hallways could use new carpeting to eliminate the odor of smoke. There was always an English speaking person at reception. The location was great, just a short walk straight out the doors of the train/bus station that lead down to the huge staircase, and down Boulevard Athenes. The hotel is on the left, on a corner. There were numerous fast food places nearby, but if you want a sit down meal in a better quality restaurant you need to walk down to the Old Port, which is about a 5-10 minute walk away. We stayed for 4 nights, first day we didn't had hot water at all. I complained and they fixed it the next day and gave us free breakfast. They don't do reimbursement which I asked for. The neighborhood is super dirty but the location was convenient for us. Overall I wouldn't recommend it just if you need to be close to the railway station.

If you are on a stopover as we were, this hotel is just fine. Keep in mind you are in Marseilles. About twenty percent of the locals here are actually from France. Everyone else are from countries close by: Tunisia, Greece, Morocco and gypsies from who knows where. We stayed for four nights because the B&B in Provence would not be available to us until […] then so toughed it out and actually had some fantastic meals whilst there. However, one night at dinner our waiter told us to "beware of the starving children" which was code for watch your wallet and don't leave the money for the bill or tip on the table. Always bring it to your waiter and all should rest well from there. The hotel staff were mostly cool but what we weren't expecting was that it was managed by Muslims. We brought wine with us and since there are no mini fridges in the room I asked the front desk person if I could store it in one of their refrigerators downstairs where they keep the food for breakfast and so forth. They were agreeable and two of them were actually quite entertained with the idea. The other two took to it as a task and it's because they cannot touch the bottles, ever. So we were treading on sacred ground, a refrigerator/freezer in the basement of a hotel! The location is noisy to the extreme. Constant din of scooters, sirens, horns and trucks/lorries. It is within walking distance to the national railway and there is a Europacar agency just three minutes by foot to the right that if you make your reservations online you'll always get the better deal. WiFi is free in the common area downstairs and works pretty well though my wife swears one of the front desk managers will shut it off in the middle of the night like a depriving father. Also, this person in question will pray all night at the front desk. You can hear him ever so quietly as chants. Not sure if it was for him or for us! Walking to the Old Harbor is quick. Although the staff were very friendly, the building is old and the rooms are in serious need of repair. The photographs must have been taken a long time ago, or they were of what they like them to be, not what they are. Would not recomend to anyone, unless it is seriously remodelled.

The hotel is not bad. The room is clean and spacious, but the hallway and elevator lift is very tiny. The staff was somewhat helpful. Good location, it's a few minutes a way from Canbere street. Also, expect to pay a country tax when you check out.

We paid for a superior room with air; were put in a superior room with A/c that did not work; were told they were full; they lied; the room was so hot we had to sit in the lobby; we complained again and were moved to another room that had a/c, but which was only marginally better. the next morning, after unpacking, we were told that the room was a standard […] room & that we could be switched to a superior room; we were already so upset with our treatment that we declined (they couldn't explain what the difference, other than price, was between the two). you could not enter or exit the hotel without walking through a swarm of flies; the 'lobby' consisted of 3 chairs and 1 small table so internet usage was in a tiny dining area. we had to, every day, ask for towels and soap; every day the maid left the window open for flies to get in. One day, returning from a 4 hour walk, we found the hotel locked! the 'concierge' needed a potty break and decided to lock up - without putting up a sign so that people would know to wait! no one could enter or leave! when people called, he returned and YELLED AT US for not being patient. without question, this was the worst overall experience we have ever had. I chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the train station and that was it's only positive feature. Very small, dirty, uncomfortable, rundown rooms; tiniest lift in the world that could barely carry 2 people with minimal luggage and a very noisy, dirty neighbourhood were overall impressions. However, the biggest problem was the lack of airconditioning […] during hot October weather (although not unusually hot for Marseilles at that time of the year). Staff informed us that the hotel is automatically heated from 1 October, making the place hideously hot and stuffy. Opening windows let in noise and odours, although staff assured us that we were in a quiet room being on the 3rd floor.
