Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia City Center - Philadelphia

Normally out of my price range, but got a great deal on a suite. Convenient parking, located near all my favorite places in Philly. You have to visit the Reasing Terminal Market when you stay, it's right next door to the hotel. Great staff, very helpful and friendly.

Great location in center city close to market and within walking distance to shop.

This HGI exceeded expectations! Not only is it located super conveniently to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Chinatown, but it was very nice-- the rooms were big and very well-appointed...my room had a fridge and microwave and plenty of drawer and closet space. We were going to a show at the Trocadero Theater on New Years Eve, and this hotel was perfect. There were no pillows on one bed, which was weird, but that was solved with a call to the front desk. Overall, nice hotel.

This place is everything a hotel should be...so much so that I can even get passed the semi-seedy neighborhood. Honestly, it could have just been that the crazies were out because it was New Year's Eve. Wonderful room, wonderful customer service (especially).

I stayed 3 nights in the Junior Suite and the room was very clean and comfortable. This may not be the neighborhood for everyone but if you love food and culture this is the place for you. The hotel is located as part of the Reading Railroad Marketplace full of essential eats while in Philadelphia. You are close to Septa Subway stations to get around […] the key sights and just a block from Chinatown. Breakfast at the hotel is one of the best I have had. We had coupons for our stay courtesy of the front desk but that saved us spending money for the trip. Parking is a downfall in Philadelphia--standard rate is $33 per night. Recently Stayed 3 nights in an evoluton junior suite. Rooms were ready upon arrival even though we were 2 hours early. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Room was spacious and the beds were comfortable the refrigerator and microwave came in handy. Bathroom was nothing fancy but clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. […] The walls of the hotel are thin and you can hear your neighbors Saturday morning at 8 am the fire alarm went off we had to evacuate the hotel, it was brief but very annoying after a late night on Friday. There was no actual emergency nor was it a prank and we never got a real reason for leaving the hotel in December in our pajamas, which didn't sit well with us. The Hotel is right across from a Wawa and around the corner from the Terminal Market which definitely came in handy for food and drinks. We could not eat at the hotels restaurant as it was rented out for the weekend. The hotel is in the city center but borders on Chinatown and is across the street from the Greyhound bus station so I can completely understand how other reviewers could feel unsafe especially at night. The hotel had parking right next door to the hotel but at $31 a night it's an added expense you should consider when booking. We stayed for two nights, the first one was fine but the second night was terrible. There was an agrument in the hallway, we had to call the front desk several times, sounded like a fight. Then at 2AM the fire alarm went off three seperate times! The front desk did not provide much information regarding emergency. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel is because the room temperature regulation was impossible. I booked two rooms. Mine was a little too warm and stuffy--or freezing if we put the AC on. The 2nd room was on roast and there was nothing my daughter could do to change it. She didn't sleep a wink.

The only issue I had was that it was $33 to park over night. The parking attendant told me there was no discount even though I stayed at the hotel. However, the location was great in the middle of everything.

The hotel was very convenient for families who need to find great food. The Reading Terminal Market is right next door and Chinatown is right around the corner! We walked to the Franklin Institute (.8 miles) and had a blast. The sofa bed was the only complaint. The springs were actually IN the mattress and the mattress was on top of a "sling like" contraption. […] My daughter had to sleep with us in the king bed. My husband and I loved this hotel. The rooms were large (suites) and clean and very comfortable. It was quiet despite being in the middle of a busy city- we both slept very well for the one night we stayed there. Other reviewers commented that the area was not that nice/sketchy- but we did not feel that way since there were so many other business people […] and tourists (and police!). We wanted a reasonably priced nice hotel in the downtown area where we could walk to the major sites and attractions- I feel that we got a great deal and exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this hotel to anyone- I am a very picky hotel person! One other thing I would add is the parking situation (which will be the same issue in any downtown hotel) is not ideal in that it significantly adds to the cost of the room. When we read other reviews about this hotel there were complaints about the surronding and over all its a good ares just the immediate block out the side door on 11th there is a bus terminal and a Crown Chicken fast food joint open real late. So at times there might be some shaddy characters on this one block. Comming from NYC I did not have an issue […] but it is noticalbe. The room and hotel is very clean and the staff extemly friendly. The Free WIFI worked great whihc is important these days. The only complaint that I had was there were no room safes - which today traveling with a laptop/ipad and other devices you want the extra security of locking these items up when your out during the day. hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. room was very clean and modern. just beware of the prostitutes and drug dealers outside after dark :)

My stay was great! Everything made for a wonderful experience except the cost for parking. The hotel doesn't own or manage the parking that is connected to it and it costs $33.00/day. That's a room in some places. Many hotels own their parking and the cost is not $33.00/day. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. The facility, yet not very old, seemed a bit dated but very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Center City Philadelphia.

I found the staff to be very helpful and the room was great just what I was looking for. Very conveient if you want to shop at Reading Terminal Market or other attractions. I will be staying again next year for sure. Food from room services was very good also but a little pricey. I was overall pleased.

the mattress was very uncomfortable. Also the room could have been a little cleaner. Not the best part of town.

Located at the Convention Center, the Hilton Garden in was about a 10 minute walk to Independence Mall and other historical sites. The hotel isn't pretty from the outside (sort of in a tunnel under the Convention Center) but it is very nice once you enter the lobby. Appears to be newly updated. Room was very nice and well appointed but a bit small. […] Would be ok for 2 people but might be crowded for more (I was traveling alone so it wasn't a problem for me). Staff was very personable and helpful. I selected it for price and location (the least expensive near the historic sites) and was very pleased for the quality of the hotel for the nightly rate. Philly changes block by block. The staff at this hotel was extremely friendly. Not located in the most luxurious part of Downtown, but a very short cab ride or walk to everything. Great stay for the price.

The best part of this hotel is its location. Everything is a short walk and the Reading Terminal is right next door. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only not positive --and this really wasn't a negative -- is that the lobby is not at all inviting and the entrance to the hotel is under a bridge and is dark and gloomy. We circled the block twice […] before I found the parking [it's in the Convention Center Parking Garage, but is poorly marked for the use of the guests at the hotel. I am a monthly business traveler. All the better hotels in Philly are overpriced, and this is no exception. First night I woke up at 4am room was very hot, even though it was cool outside and my heat was off, I had to turn on the a/c just to cool it down to sleep, and actually left it on the remainder of my stay. Was awakened by sirenes several times […] each night I was there as well as voices from the hall sounding as though they were in the room it was so loud. The location of this hotel is awesome for downtown Philly. It's right around the corner from China town and across the street from the convention center and Reading Terminal. I had a beautiful view of the city's skyline and you can walk to many nearby attractions. The hotel is what you would expect for a Hilton Garden Inn and the staff was exceptionally […] friendly and helpful. The only issue I have with this hotel, and others like it in downtown areas is the pricey parking. Call the hotel before booking and get the parking rates - because they are not cheap. Or save yourself a headache and don't drive or rent a car if you don't need too. Otherwise, it's a very nice hotel in a great location. Ďalšie informácie

The hotel was in a perfect location for touring Philadelphia. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very helpful.

Can't complain, great value for the price. Staff was warm and friendly, from the desk workers to the chief. Buffet was also great.

Convenient location, rooms are clean and comfortable

Located right in Chinatown. A 2 minute walk to the market. Overall a great location and hotel for a low price. I was very satisfied. They let me have an early check in and late check out without any hassle as well.
