Homestead Durham-university - Durham

The location of the hotel was convienent but that's where the frills stop. Room was outdated, bathroom was in horrible condition and the room entrance was barely secure.

Bedding (sheets, covers, ect... need to be updated. Carpets need to be cleaned better. Overall quality of the room was below expectations except for the bathroom and the kitchen. Both were clean and comfortable to use. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Main negative points were the bedding and carpeting.

This is a mid-range hotel that I would say is slightly overpriced for the quality. While cleanliness is always an issue in this price range, this one appeared to have been serviced properly. Stopping in the area for one night to tour UNC and Duke Universities, on our way to vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. Hotel was perfectly located inbetween both universities; only a few miles to each location. Very nice neighborhood, with shopping centers and restaurants right there. You could even walk to them! Very large, clean suite with nice LR area […] w/TV and big couch (which my husband slept on), chair area. Nice full sized refrig./kitchen sink/seating area, with large bath off the kitchen. Bedroom was HUGE, with two, nice Queen beds, another big bathroom, TV, and large dressing/closet area. I couldn't believe how spacious the suite was, and very clean and quiet. Lots of room for our dog to roam around, and nice outside, shady walking paths to walk him around. Big dog...115 lbs. No smells of previous pets, or hair. Matt @ front dest was extremely nice and helpful. He immediately got me some extra pillows, and bedding for the couch. When I asked him directions to Duke's campus, he printed them out on the computer for me, door-to door!! Very easy check-in and out! Very quiet place! I was doing research in one of Duke's libraries and spent an entire week at the Homestead Durham University. The people were all extremely nice, and there was even a free shuttle service to both Duke and UNC that I did not know about upon booking. As other reviews have mentioned, the hotel is situated right next to a shopping center that has, to name […] a few, a Harris Teeter grocery store and a CVS, as well as a Bruegger's and Quinzo's. These were all convenient, especially given that I did not have a car and couldn't find any worthwhile eateries that delivered. The room felt dated and the bathroom lacked toiletries beyond bar soap (but I think the front desk carries the basics - I was able to get a hair dryer upon request), but it served its purpose as a decent place to sleep each night. Wifi access is available for a one time fee of $4.99. Two complaints: As a young woman traveling alone when I stayed, I'm glad I made a point of getting back to my room before sunset each day. This isn't to say that anything particularly shady went down while I was there. However, nighttime did seem to be when I actually heard the other guests in terms of their coming in and out and even chatting in the exterior corridor. Finally, the bottom of my front door didn't seem all that sealed. I would see a sliver of sunlight coming in each morning, as well as get whiffs of smoke from when the guest next door had his cigarettes in the corridor. This might be a concern for anyone booking in the winter time. I'd likely stay here again if I were doing anything at Duke again and did not have a car. Ďalšie informácie

Very comfortable and affordable. I enjoyed the location area which was close to the shopping areas. I thoroughly enjoyed the eating options and the Harris Teeter Super Market.

The carpet smelled of pet urine and feces. The shower/tub was stained badly.

On a week long project, this was a good hotel. Supermarket, CVS, and coffee shop in Walking distance from hotel. No free Internet

The hotel was exactly what I was looking for, a clean, safe, inexpensive place to sleep over on a trip from DC to Atlanta. The Hotel was very clean and well kept. I got a very good rate which appreciated. Hotels did cheat me out of a nights stay on my reward plan since I used a coupon to book the room. We stayed at The Homestead Suites for medical appointments. The toilet ran constantly. The bed was a brick and the room was very very dated. My parents room had trash from the last guests in the trash can and behind the tv and the door did not shut properly. With some upkeep and remodeling it could be a very nice place but it has work to do.

If you are looking for a reasonable price place to stay and require minimal hotel services, then this is the hotel for you. There is internet services for $5 bucks per day, but lack any other business service needs. There are numerous places to eat and shopping malls within walking distance. The Hotels upkeep & cleanliness is reasonable.

Hotel Front desk staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to meet all our needs.The rooms were very clean ( and I normally re-clean everything as soon as I step through the door )but it really wasn't needed. 24時間営業のマーケット（Harris Teeter）に歩いて行ける距離にあり、とても便利だった。 部屋もきれいで、食器類もそろっていて、 基本的には満足の内容だった。 ただ、エレベーターがないため、２階の部屋だと荷物の上げ下げがとても大変だった点と （係員が持ち上げてくれたが、下ろす時は自分でやった） 無線ＬＡＮが有料で使えるとされているが、 接続が非常に悪く、５回に１回くらいしかつながらない状態だった点は とても不便だった。 次はラキンタを使うかもしれない。
