At first, wireless internet didn't work but after we told to personal, its started work in 5 minutes. Rooms was clean and tidy. Subway station is next to hotel and to Manhattan its take about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes there is noise in rooms because of that subway and disco bar. Breakfast is just donuts, bagels and coffee/tea but not far from motel is great chinese restaurant, pizza, supermarket etc. A++++

Izby su velmi male co by ani nevadilo z hladiska komfortu kedze tam prakticky len spite ale nie je kde vylozit veci z kufra. Par vesiakov na zavesenie triciek a kosiel. 2) kupelna je oddelena prakticky len zavesom. Priecka s dverami by bola vhodnejsia. Inac hotel vrelo odporucame. Bolo nam fajn. Krasna terasa s barom, vyborny personal, moderny hotel a zariadenie, dobra poloha na Manhattane.

"The Difference between a So-So Stay and a Wow Stay"
I have stayed at The Belleclaire at least four times starting from the 90's however, I was very disappointed this visit. The lobby is still a work in progress and will be inviting upon completion however, the room that I had needed work and attention to detail. The cord on the blinds did not work so no up or down, the window would not close, the air […] conditioning unit seemed uncased in plastic and the radiator was held up by a chunk of wood. The painter needed his glasses and the room felt uncared for. Each time I entered the hallway I could smell burnt toast. Although centrally located in the heart of the Upper West Side, the rooms are so tiny that unpacking a bag becomes a problem and opening the bathroom door to use the toilet isn't possible either. For two days our hot water didn't run and we couldn't get the air conditioner to work. The walls are pretty thin so noise from adjacent rooms is annoying. […] The Internet connection, although complimentary, frequently reported "too many connections" so it wasn't possible to use as a reliable business connection. The lobby is spacious and the front desk is friendly but unless location is everything to you, I'd recommend other hotels in the price range for a little more space and reliability of the amenities. "Small room, but comfortable and convenient"
There are only two things I really want to note. First, the service is excellent. The front desk is very polite and understanding of your needs, and the lobby attendants at the front door make you feel welcome. The second, is that the rooms are incredibly tiny. I stayed in a full bed this visit, and I will certainly be coming back to this hotel again, […] but probably booking a king-sized bed. There wasn't a closet, because there wasn't enough room. "Clean, comfortable, but street noise overwhelming."
Staff was nice. My 5th floor king size room was decent size, clean, and had all the usual amenities. My only complaint was the noise level from Broadway. The building is old and has no central air hence the window a/c unit. Despite a wooden box to cover the whole setup, it did not filtering much noise nor a strong cold draft from the window. I lived […] in manhattan for two years and currently live downtown in a different city so used to garbage trucks, buses, and bars closing etc. But this was like sleeping with the window open Would have rate 4 stars if not for this. So there was a used washcloth from the previous guest in the shower, but the bathroom was otherwise spotless and comfortably sized. Great shower. Nice soaps and lotions. No hair dryer. The room was spotless, nice linens, wood floors were super clean - no grit under my bare feet. Nice flat screen tv. But no cable. "Budget Option"
After travelling to NYC for business on someone else's dime for two years, this time I was on my own penny - and looking at budget options. I chose Hotel Belleclaire because of the location and OK reviews. Hotel is extremely convenient to Broadway subway line including one-stop express travel to Time Square if needed. Check-in was easy and polite. But […] I admit, when I opened the door to my room I thought "Oh, how the mighty have fallen - sigh." It's not the first room I've stayed in with no carpet (including Weston's low price point, Element, and the Club Quarters) but I always find it off-putting - so "cold." And, the room is 14' by 14" including the bathroom. Yes, small. But, here is the good news...nice, newly renovated bathroom. Clean. Convenient. And two nights for the price of what I used to spend on one night. So, all in all, I give it a three. Worth considering, especially if you want to be on the Upper West Side. "I stayed in 3 rooms over 6 days!"
Am in NYC to be near NYP Columbia, so I wanted extremely clean, convenient and I knew I wouldn't be spending any real time in it. I didn't care about size and i needed reasonably priced. I got exactly what I was looking for. Then, NYP kept telling us my sister would be discharged, and then keep her another day. Therefore I literally checked out of, […] and back in to, this hotel 3 times and had 3 separate rooms in 6 consecutive days. First room - 701 (deluxe king) was great. Temperature was an issue until I plugged in the AC (it was 30 degrees out). Room 935 - (deluxe queen) not so great. Shockingly small. You had to close the shower door to reach the TP. The entire room was the size of the bed. Even then, I was fine with it. Until the radiator started knocking - Loudly and frequently! They moved me when I called to complain at 9 pm. Service - excellent, friendly people. Really nice. accomodating. Room 825 is ok - just odd. There is (literally) plastic tape over some wood panelling near the window..covering a hole...why? The room is smaller than 701 but a tad larger than 935. In summary, my best description for this hotel is quirky. I loved the neighborhood and went to Westside Market daily. Would I stay here again if I were vacationing in the city and wanted a nice hotel room to relax in? Probably not. But did it fit my needs for this trip? Perfectly. "A nice place on the upper West side"
This is a nice hotel on the upper West side convenient to the Beacon theater museums, Central Park, etc. it is not midtown so restaurants are a few blocks away instead of being packed together, however there are some very good restaurants at all price ranges in the area. As for The hotel, while the rooms are typically New York small they are comfortable […] and modern. The decor is nice and being updated. The only major problem is that any noise in the hallway or a neighboring rooms is often heard, And you can clearly hear into rooms as you pass them in the narrow hallways. Staff is very friendly and helpful and there are numerous coffee shops etc. in the area. I was disappointed that there was no doorman to hail a cab on Sunday morning.
