"Non-existant Housekeeping"
The hotel was fine with a great location, but housekeeping did not clean until the 4th day we were there and that was because I demanded it. The breakfast was great and the ladies that took care of the food were the sweetest ever. It was a decent stay for the money.

"Great Night's Stay before Cruise from Charleston"
We got to Charleston on Sunday November 6,2011 to spend the day and tour Charleston before leaving on Monday November 7 on our cruise to the Bahamas. The hotel is only 6.6 miles from the Port of Charles and the downtown area. It was very easy to find and the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. "Average but clean and great location"
The Holiday Inn Express was in a great location. It was easy to access Hwy 17 for heading downtown or 526 for skirting around the city to hit the plantations, outlet mall, etc. My husband and I stayed here two nights at the end of our trip to the Charleston area. The bathroom was clean and looked updated. The shower itself was amazing -- I didn't want […] to get out! The beds left something to be desired though. I awoke both mornings with lower back pain. The hotel feels a little on the older side, but it looks mostly kept up and was clean. (They could have swapped out the mattresses in our room and added better lighting in the hallways and common area to make it look and feel even better.) Some of the lights and the alarm clock were unplugged when we first arrived, which led to some mishaps with the alarm going off in the middle of the night. Staff should have plugged those in before we arrived, so we wouldn't have to fumble around with them. I also had to ask for a new hair dryer. The first one barely came on and then only for a few seconds. However, they were quick and courteous in bringing down a new one, which worked fine. Breakfast was average but sufficient. The warm cinnamon rolls were a nice treat. The fitness center was just a treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike -- fine for getting in a run, but no weights to work with. As frequent travelers, we often chose HIE because the hotels are all in excellent shape, clean, and offer a great free breakfast. This hotel, however, put out only a certain amount of breakfast food on a first come basis, and rudely refused to make more as certain things ran out, which we have never experienced before at any HIE. Also, we found the […] front desk people to be generally unfriendly and on the day we checked out the cleaning woman knocked on our door 3 times before 9:30 even though check out was not until 11:00. "Beautiful Hotel"
I was very happy about how beautiful our room was. It was very spacious and the bed was out-of-this-world comfortable! It was about 15 mins from downtown charleston. Everything was great from the service to the cleanliness. No complaints!

This was our third stay at the hotel. We have always found it outstanding. Although we had some housekeeping issues early in our stay, the staff more than corrected them and the rest of our stay was great. A very convenient location with friendly front desk personnel.

Very, very nice place to stay. Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. Easy access to Charleston and the surrounding area.
When making the reservations with Hotels.com I listed that I needed a room for 5 people. When arriving at the hotel the room had 2 queen beds with no sleeper sofa or cot. I went to the front desk and asked for a cot for my son and she refused stating that according to fire laws they could not put a cot in that room. I informed her that we made reservations […] for 4 adults and 1 child and he needed a bed and asked for a bigger room. This was the biggest room they had unless we wanted to pay another $150.00 + tax for a 2nd room. Her solution was to put blankets down on the floor and let him sleep there. Because of it being a holiday weekend and we were leaving on a cruise the next morning we had to stay there. My son slept on the floor with blankets stacked under him. Needless to say I was very upset with the fact that it was listed we needed a room for 4 adults and 1 child. Where would you think the 5th person would sleep with only 2 beds??? Ďalšie informácie
"Charleston Holiday Inn Express"
Everything about the stay was excellent with one exception, that being, they are not equipped to handle the breakfast needs on weekends. During the week, space and service at breakfast bar is excellent. On the weekend, seating and keeping up with breakfast consumption is frustrating for guests. All other aspects of stay were excellent.
We were in room 325 and there was this loud pulsing noise. When my wife called down to see what it was they said it was the air conditioner om the roof. They moved us to another room at the opposite end of the floor and there was no loud sounds there.

We loved our short stay here. The room was cleaner than most, the beds adequately comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and the shower head high enough to stand under. This hotel far surpassed my expectations, with the amazing but very free breakfast. Great location for visting family in charleston, and reliable service. For a budget trip you must stay at this hotel, the comfy beds and ac made my nights sleep most enjoyable. Will stay again.

"Hotel in Charleston -close, convenient and nice"
We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the rooms were clean and service was exceptional. We really enjoyed free coffee/tea and cookies in the afternoon as well as breakfast in the mornings. Hotel was well taken care of both outside and inside and was located very close to Charleston (10 minute drive) […] and Plantations (5 minute drive to Magnolia Gardens). Staff was very helpful with suggestions on places to eat and visit and continuously asked for our feedback. We will now look for Holiday Inn, when we travel. The rooms were pretty big and the bathroom was large and spacious with a really nice shower. Great Hotel. Newly renovated. Very quiet. The location is good next to restaurantes and across the street from the mall. 10 min drive to downtown. Free breakfast better that expected. I was very surprised in a good way after reading bad reviews online they are not true. Almost changed reservations. Happy that we didn't.

Check-in was super fast. Hotel was easy to find. The hotel was being remodeled but wasn't a distraction to our stay. The pool was clean and not too crowded. The only part that was crazy was breakfast...it was great...but obviously EVERYONE thought the same thing!! The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly (overly friendly). Free breakfast, afternoon snacks, free coffee, etc. were outstanding. The hotel is undergoing renovation, but that did not impact our stay. Location is only average if you are looking to go into historic district. You need a car. Overall however a very nice place to spend a night.

I stayed at this hotel for one night during October 2009. The service greatly exceeded my expectations. By far the friendliest hotel staff I have ever experienced. Each time we came across an employee at the hotel, we were asked if everything met our expectations and told to let them know if there was anything they could do for us. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the hot breakfast. The breakfast staff was very attentive and made sure everything was full at all times.
