The hotel is very convenient, there are restaurants nearby, parking was not a problem during our stay although there is only a limited parking spots, price is reasonable to have a hotel in the middle of the city and a mile from Harvard University. The breakfast is really good!

Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Cambridge has figured out what is essential to a really good hotel stay, They offer that and more. They are in an industrial area, but they are within walking distance of an excellent retail and business district with a full scale shopping center offering every conceivable amenity. Cabs and such are available, but […] the staff know every single aspect of the Boston Mass Transit System and they'll map out the route and timing to get you anywhere you need to go in the greater Boston Metropolitan area. The facility is sparkling fresh and new, and they give you options that are under your control: soft or hard pillows, accessible thermostat that really works, complimentary breakfast featuring fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, crisp bacon, fresh pastries, . . . But the absolute BEST feature of this Hotel is the staff. Every single person there was joyfully and intelligently service oriented. Not a scintilla of attitude or insincerity. I was having problems with the iron provided by the hotel. The head of housekeeping checked out he iron and turns out I was reading the heat gauge backwards and was turning the heat down instead of up (PhD here, right?!). The head of housekeeping handled the situation without making me feel like a complete idiot. I left my telephone charger in my room after check out and returned much later that evening to see if I could retrieve it. Well, someone else was already in the room and the clerk was loathe to disturb them, but he made it his business to solve my problem. He searched through their inventory of abandoned cell phone chargers, found one that worked with my phone, and gave it to me. What a pain it would have been for me otherwise! THIS hotel gave me one of t he BEST service experiences I have ever had! And I do not qualify that assessment with “for the price”. They are among the best ever, period. "not the usual holiday inn express"
We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. It was in a not so nice area, extremely limited parking (and no street alternative if you were from our of state), and the front desk person was no help when we needed to know where else to park. The hotel was under renovation which was fine but our room seemed nice and new but missing a bathroom door latch, […] a toilet that didn't flush, a showhead that sprayed every which way and a bath faucet that was half hanging off the wall. "Stay was good but......."
the hotel was doing some remodeling. The water would not go through the sink and the bath tub. it was very slow. the night staff is way more friendly than the morning staff. The hotel was very clean and the staff very accomodating.
The people that work at this hotel are rude. They cut off water twice for renovations. Elevator rarely works. They try to say you can only use their taxi driver. Beds are uncomfortable. Thermostat doesnt always work.

Location very close to train service, however we ended up walking back from the TD Garden as it was not that far. People at the front desk were friendly. Hotel is maintained very well. We showed up at 1000am, and while check out isn't until 3pm, we had rooms by 1130am. The front desk staff kept us up-to-date and invited us to the complimentary breakfast even though we weren't guests yet. Very helpful in directions of where we wanted to go and other possible attractions. "Stayed 3 nights to visit Boston and Cambridge"
The hotel is conveniently located across the river from Boston and within walking distance of the Boston Museum of Science, the Cambridge Galleria, and a local bus depot. "Frustrating to use the car here."
You cannot turn into the hotel coming up from the south because of the median strip. They don't have square blocks so turning around is extremely frustrating. We ended up buying a GPS after this Boston experience. Parking at the hotel is limited so we stayed parked and only used the T which involved a walk that was a little iffy after dark. This hotel is one of the most friendly hotels I have ever stayed. Housekeepers are very helpful and people at frontdesk are so friendly with annoying questions I had asked couple times. The location is great if you are about to drive but walking to the hotel can be confusing. There is T-station right across the road but I checked some of crosswalk lights […] are not working. Or you may consider taking other buses at another T-station about 3 blocks on westside. The closest T-station to take subway is Lechmere station but when I was there the station was closed for elevator installation or something similar. Instead, there was a shuttle buses to North Station(T-station). Other than some minor issues, hotel itself is great at quiet neighborhood. "can be managed better"
There are two problems with this hotel. The staff has to be retrained to deal with customers. Some of them were rude to the point they were arrogant. The other one is the parking problem. We stayed here in early June, when it seemed every other hotel in Boston was booked or charging much more per night. I was pleased with the value of the Holiday Inn Express. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good, and helped keep the overall costs of travel down. The hotel's location is convenient because of the access to the city. "Good Night's Sleep"
We had a pleasant experience there. The hotel was in close proximity to our destination, and they let us leave our car in the parking lot (we could walk to see our friends), thereby saving a lot of aggravation..and no need for a parking permit. Breakfast was delicious..esp the quick pancakes.

Hotel was excellent and the room was very big. Get the room with two beds and you will not be disappointed. Hotel was close to almost everything and the city offered a free shuttle to the subway. This hotel is great. Nothing to complain about. Big rooms, warm heaters. Can't hear neighbors. Very polite and professional staff. Affordable rate. Green line is about 5 min walk. MIT is 15 min away. Nothing to do around there though.

My ONLY complaint was the inability to completely obscure the window shade in the room. The semi-transparent curtain was letting in all of the outside commercial lights as the hotel faces a somewhat industrial area.

I had to change rooms twice because no king bed was available and that is what I paid for. The bathroom was filthy and there was no reading table in one of the rooms so I stayed the night using a queen bed which is too small for a tall person as me.

But the person at the counter for the night shift was not so helpful regarding some requests I made such as with the use of copy machine. I would not recommend if you are staying for your business trip purpose. The quality of printer and copy machine was terrible. Wi-fi was great though. Also, I was put into a smoking room.

"no complaints"
We only spent one night at this hotel. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was included and it was pretty good. The train station is only about 2 blocks away so the location is very convenient. The price was good considering how pricey Boston is.

We were in Boston/Cambridge for a conference at a pricey hotel/conference center, but wanted to spend much less on accommodations. Since we had driven from home to Cambridge, staying a few miles away from the venue wasn't a problem. We stayed at this hotel for a quick trip into the city to go to the sports bars by the garden to watch march madness and to attend a comedy show. We arrived at 11am and the staff was so wonderful! Dette er ett veldig bra hotel, store fine rom. Beliggenhet Cambridge, men nær Boston sentrum, ca 5-6 minutter med T-bane/buss til The North Station, Boston. Det tar ca 2-3 mninutter å gå fra hotellet til T-banen/Buss. Det eneste å sette fingeren på er frokosten, som nok blir i enkleste laget.
