Hopkins Inn - Baltimore

What can I say... the bed was old and worn out. Did get a work out going up and down the stairs since the phone didnt work. But for the price... its a roof over my head.

Very close to Johns Hopkins University. They serve continental breakfasts. The room would by nice if not for the extremely laud hating system sounded like a jack hammer drill. I had to turn it off.

Room was clean but facilities were bit aged. Located in just a block away from Johns Hopkins University. Around this inn, Hopkins' B&N and tons of food stores and liquor stores are available. From previous reviews, I was worried that it would be gross and overrun. Instead, it was lovely! In particular, the late night staff were *extremely* friendly and charming. The sort of pleasant Maryland folk you would never have the pleasure of meeting at a Hilton. This is not a four-star hotel, so little things one expects aren't the way we usually […] have them (instead of fridge in room, there is communal fridge in a sort of random and dorm-room looking kitchen on the third floor; the TV had a number of channels that were fuzzy.) But those are very minor negatives. The bottom line is that it is a cute place, with very friendly staff, for a very cheap price, right near Hopkins. This is a very modest hotel, but was clean enough and convenient to the Johns Hopkins campus. Beds had seen better days, and the heat was a bit out of control. Certainly a good budget choice.

it is not convenient for inner harbor visits, but nice area to relax and eat. Bed not comfy and some bath hardware was broken or loose or missing.

Our recent stay at Hopkins Inn provided exactly what we needed. We were on the 4th floor (without an elevator), but we are healthy enough to handle the stairs. One very pleasant surprise was the ample hot breakfast. Price was great and we were only a few blocks from our friend. Hopkins Inn was a great option for us.

The Hopkins Inn looks weary and the service is inconsistent. I had to make 3 calls in order to get pillow cases in my room, including 2 around 11 PM. But the price and location is convenient for me.

The building had a lot of old time charm, but the bed squeeked with every little more and was sunken in in the middle, very uncomfortable. The tv made a buzzing sound and only got about 12 channels. There were some missing tiles in the bathroom, a lack of accessible outlets - had to move the bed and unplug a lamp, and it was pretty dirty down there. […] Good location, but I only chose this hotel because it was affordable and very last-minute. The room was clean and comfortable, except that the AC didn't really cool very well. No frills here. The staff was helpful. The breakfast is adequate, mostly a do-it-yourself set up. If you need to be in this area of Baltimore, this works!

For the price, this room was quite nice and comfortable. However, the television did not receive local channels and the lightswitch did not work. Also, the halls were quite loud in the early morning hours.

This is a lovely small hotel with friendly service and convenient access to JHU. The room was clearly updated recently and was similar to any renovated historic hotel. The room was cozy and the bed was great. No wardrobe though, had to hang my clothes on a door knob. And the channels available did not seem to make sense! Needed to find a hotel close to the universities. Even after reading reviews I didn't think the "descriptions"were fair. Looking back they were more than fair. While the location was great, it was all downhill from there. Couldn't get any questions answered by front desk help "he was new". When we got into our room it had a musty smell, broken furniture, […] a television that did not get any of the important channels ABC-NBC-FOX. if you have trouble with steps - don't stay here. Breakfast was lousy We were in the room to sleep and chose this hotel because of locations and there weren't any other hotels nearby that had vacancies. i wouln't not stay here again - just not on the 4th floor.

The hotel is fairly old and in a great neighborhood next to Hopkins University. Everything is fairly old and it is across the street from the Hospital so there are lots of ambulances going back and forth. The rooms vary in size from tiny to spacious so that makes a big difference. TV had only a few channels to select from without any networks available. […] The Thai Restaurant is close by and very good. all in all a little run down, ok front desk (or front office). Although the rooms are quite small and dated, they were clean and sufficient for an overnight stay. The drive into downtown was quick; the parking garage was secure; and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Chain hotels in the downtown area were more than twice the price of this inn. Definitely a good deal for the price conscious.

The room was very small. no table or chair no closet. The TV was not working. The concierge in the morning shift was not friendly or helpful, the evening concierge was better, The information about the parking lot was not described in the hotel site. The breakfast was ok, but the surrounding area was dirty.

The room was small but very comfortable. The location was perfect for what I needed. Staff was polite and helpful. The included breakfast was less satisfactory, very bare bones and no staff around to answer questions or clean up after previous eaters.Overall, I would stay here again because the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The room and bath were very old and badly maintained. Dust was seen over the coffee maker and desks. The AC was very noisy so I had to turn it off and open the window, but the street was very noisy overnight, especially in early morning. I spent a sleepless night with 94 degrees temperature without air conditioning. It is not worth the high price.

This is not a hotel for people who love big chains. The rooms are nice sized pretty dated and no elevator. The ac works well! the front desk ( or front office ) is typically understaffed and the beds aren't the most comfortable. We loved it --tons of charm and the staff was really great.

This is close to the Homewood campus, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery and liquor stores and a hospital. There are a lot of college-age "children" there that can get rowdy sometimes but most of the time it is quiet. This bus on St. Paul Street will take you all the way down to the Inner Harbor and the attractions there.

The room is quite small, twin beds. Right next to JHU. So if no car, this is a good choice. But if one has a car, better off stay somewhere cheaper and a bigger room.

great location walking distance from Johns Hopkins. Nice people, no elevator

My wife and I stayed at the Hopkins Inn because all the other hotels were booked for the Yankees-Orioles game. It was clean and was a $10 cab ride away from the Inner Harbor. Not a top-of-the-line establishment, but it was OK as a place to sleep.

When I booked there were several less than stellar reviews on Hotel.com for this small hotel. I booked anyway because it was very convenient to my daughter's house. I didn't expect much but it was only one night and I figured I could put up with less than perfect to be a few blocks from my destination. However, upon arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised. […] The hotel was clean and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Even the Continental Breakfast was better than expected. In telling this on check-out Iwas told they were under new management so if you have had an unpleasant experience at this hotel I recommend you give it another chance if you are staying in the area. Good location. Did not like climbing the stairs but I got my exercise. Quiet hotel. I read other reviews about cleanliness of hotel but I saw none of the issues myself and was satisfied. Breakfast was gone by 8AM over the weekend.

It is a cute little hotel near Johns Hopkins...It is a clean small older Hotel...parking is on premises at an additional fee..but not unreasonable...in general it was a good place to stay for an overnight visit to see the University....

I had an interview at Union Memorial Hospital and I did a search of hotels in the area. This one popped up as the closest and I decided to give it a try. The hotel was adorable. I love the decor and "homey" atmosphere. I felt safe with my car locked in a closed garage and key access to get into the hotel. The staff was friendly and considerate of my […] needs. The room was clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a grand hotel that you plan to spend hours of your trip in, this may not be the place for you. Pas très proche du centre il faut prendre le bus n°3 mais très propre et confortable et se trouve dans la zone d'université.
