We had two single beds which wasn't a problem but my husband is 6 ft and the single duvet didn't go around, needless to say he didn't sleep very well. The staff were very good and freindly but there were two days when there were coach parties in, for breakfast, and they were rushed off of their feet which meant the other guests suffered. Great breakfast, good pool, gym and steam/sauna. Clean room with good size telly. Only peev was no free wifi even in public areas, which is really a given these days.

Convenient for river, canal and coastal walks. Nice room and gym facilities. Ridiculously expensive tea and coffee.. no free Wi fi and expensive to buy in hotel.

Stayed here as visiting family at Lancaster Uni. Perfect location, just off junc 34 M6. Reception and Leisure Club staff very helpful and friendly. Having a swimming pool was a bonus. Leisure Club immaculate. Didn't eat or drink at hotel. Had breakfast at the Premier Inn. All you can eat and drink for £8.95 Inc full breakfast or continental for £5.95. […] 5 minute drive from city centre but there's also bus stops outside into the centre. Definitely stay here again. We arrived to be told that there was some confusion over the booking in terms of the ages of the children. Without prompting, the remedy of an upgrade to an Executive Room was suggested and the hotel team bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. The only draw back is the pricing strategy for the braeffast and brunch meals in the bar, which […] are quite expensive - beware also the "service" that is added automatically to your food bill. Locally, the Merchants pub is a must for extremely good and reasonably priced food...and just up the hill from there is the Castle, which until very recently was a prison, and where you will now find a very informative and even "fun" historical tour. Fairly dated furniture in our room.... But beds were new and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was very expensive ( but not if you book it 1st online) but was actually VERY clean, well presented and extensive. Overall definately would stay here again. Staff very helpful and friendly

Once upon a time, Holiday Inn would be considered a premium choice. However, this hotel offers only marginally better standards than a Travelodge, with prices to match. If you're travelling on the M6, the location is perfect though!

Arrived about mid-afternoon - hotel's just off the motorway so very handy, and a good stopping off point for where we were heading for the next day. Went for a nice swim in the pool, and then had a really tasty dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening.

The only down side going new years eve they shut a lot of the bar area off and stopped serving food at 5pm because of a gala dinner, and having 2 smalk children wasn't really acceptable and we wernt told before hand. Apart from that lovely hotel.

Stayed 1 night, was tild the restraunt was fully booked, when we went down the bar To selabrate new year, we found empty seats and tables, was hungry till breakfast. Plus there was no room service when it states room service on the net. Was not happy with this hotel!!!

would like to mention Dan who looked after us - the bed for our grandaughter had not been made up -he came to the room with pillows sheets -resturaunt needs to sort the billing out -we paid cash for the eve meal and the meal bill was put on our room bill again

Very pleasant staff all eager to please and very friendly. Stayed with our 5 year old and 2 teenagers. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable with lovely views over thr river Lune. Only critisism would be the double bed was only 4ft which suited the room but made it a bit cramped for sleeping.

Excellent stay, clean room and very comfortable. We were at the back of the hotel overlooking the River Lune and it was quiet and very pleasant. The only problem is the lack of free wifi - come on Holiday Inn, you are losing out to the competition! Highly recommend this friendly and comfortable hotel.

Very good location for visits to Lake District and the Dales. Breakfast good at £9.50. Although I could not use the facilities (recent operation) they looked quite good. Good parking and easy access.

Very average hotel with the breakfast letting them down. They should take a visit to a Premier Inn and learn a few things! Its is generally OK but can find long queues at reception at checkout time and long waits at the bar when it's busy. Silly things let it down like food trays being left outside rooms in the corridor all evening and night and room […] keys don't always work and windows that don't close properly to isolate the noisy road. Stayed several times and normally have to change allocated room due to one issue or another. Be aware this company over books capacity so don't arrive too late or you may end up in another hotel! The non-smoking room we were allocted stank of smoke (It did say it was a non-smoking floor so it must have been an inconsiderate previous guest) but they gave us another one at once with no questions asked. Big TV and usual kettle/coffee supllies in the room, which was spacious, clean and to good Hoilday Inn standards.We did not use the breakfast buffet, […] prefering coffee and BYO rolls in our room, but it looked ok from a distance. Staff were friendly and polite in the brief interactins we had with them. Although only 2-3 miles to town its a bit out on a limb. Was forced to find hotel outside of Manchester Airport as all hotels in the area were full. We chose to stay in Lancaster and were very pleased with the Holiday Inn there. Asked for a 5:30 am wake-up call and received it promptly. Husband is disabled and the staff were very helpful. Hotel good for overnight stay however food menu pricey better value over road at Brewers Fayre, for same type of food. Rooms were comfortable and well cleaned, hospitality tray was abit sparce.

The staff went the extra mile for us. We were a bit concerned when booking to be told it would be a double bed us and a sofa bed for my 2 children to share. We spoke to them and they said they'd see what they could do. When we arrived they'd turned the folded sofa bed into 1 bed and put in a camp bed for the other bed, great!! At breakfast, my children […] wanted hot chocolate and rather than tea or coffee and they brought a pot of hot water and sachets of hot choclate for them. That evening, when we got back to our rooms there was a sachet of hot chocolate for them each on their pillows! Great service. Apart from one misunderstanding our stay was spot on. The hotel whilst being out of town is set in its own grounds with plenty of walks available including a riverside path which extends for many a mile.

The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. There is a real shortage of decent hotels in and around Lancaster so we woudl heartily recommend it for visiors to this area.
