Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite - Fish Camp

This is a Wonderful place to stay & very close to Yosemite! A beautiful, comfortable, and clean resort. The only downside that we had was no fault of the resorts, there is just very little civilization near there so you a driving a little bit for gas etc.

We loved our short stay at this lodge. With a warm welcome and a free upgrade, we found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We used the (huge) hot tub in the indoor pool room and at 11pm were able to enjoy it all to ourselves. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean. Stayed in the Cottages which are a short drive/walk away from the main building/reception. Room was comfortable, though not as large as expected. Had trouble with the fireplace (gas) which would not light up, so a technician ad to be called. The next night, we could not get the fridge and microwave oven to operate - a technician had to come and replace […] a fuse outside. The restaurant food in the main building is a bit expensive, but unless you want a 40 minute drive into and back from Oakhurst, there isn't much choice. The Pizza restaurant near the Cottages is more reasonable and tastes good. It's a short 8 min drive from Tenaya to the the Park entrance, then other 10 mins to the Giant Trees. If you go the other way from the Park entrance, Yosemite Village is about a 40 mins drive. Use the Hotel Concierge for local information - they are great! Ďalšie informácie

First class! Lovely furnishings, great service in the restaurant, helpful advice from employees. Only drawback is they are working on updating and repairing and several areas were blocked off. They should be ready by summer, though. It's nice to see they are keeping up appearances.

We just got back from a visit of Yosemite park (april 17th 2012) and this is probably the best hotel in terms of quality-location plus reasonable price. We were a little surprised to find snow on the ground when we arrived at this time of the year but it is at 6000 feet altitude. Next day in the valley, it was warm enough for shorts and tshirt. Very good hotel. Excellent location, and high quality restraunts inside with reasonable prices. We also enjoyed a snowing day, so it was just wonderful.....

Overall the hotel was good, but a bit of a let down for false advertising free internet! The only "free internet" was to view the hotel's internal information, bookings, restaurant, etc., there was NO free internet. Internet access is available everywhere now-a-days and its' cost (access) is very, very low. I thought that this was VERY CHEEP of the […] hotel and turn me off to returning there ever again. On this trip we stayed in the "cottages" which are apart from the hotel. They consist of 3 units together and appear to look like little houses. Our room was a bottom floor but I would recommend staying on the upper level. It was noisy from the upstairs folks. I was traveling with my 10 yr old son who LOVED the indoor pools! The food at Jackalopes […] bar and grill was fantastic! Get sweet potatoe fries. On a map it appeared closer to Yosemite Valley than it was. which is good because it's not as busy. I really want to like this place - staff is great, wonderful location, really a nice environment. But, there are some fundamental construction problems, or something. It seems as though they have used no sound insulation whatsoever. We could hear people walking down the hall all day, elevator tones all day and night, and it sounded like the family upstairs […] was having a rugby tournament. Never stayed in hotel that allowed so much sound to be transmitted through the walls and ceiling. Also, some times of the day we would have no cold water! Hot water would come out of both faucets, and showers would be almost unbearably hot. Other times all was fine. Restaurants were very nice, and the bar was a pleasant place to hang out. Having stayed at other hotels at Yosemite National Park we decided to stay at the Tenaya Lodge for a change. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. We were in a lodge and it left a lot to be desired. Carpet leading into the bathroom was badly frayed, the entrance door to the lodge was cracked down the middle so you could actually stand inside […] and look at anybody standing outside,the toilet roll holder was broken and every time you used it the holder fell into the waste bin and the dirty laundry was left outside the front door in a plastic bag over 24 hours. Nice place and the closest one to Yosemite South Gate. Great base from which to see Yosemite.

Very convenient access to southern end of Yosemite, NOT if you want to go back and forth to the valley. Staff wonderful. Only complaint--WIFI should be free access in rooms.

Nothing bad you can say about this place , situated 5 mins from entrance to Yosemite with a myriad of activities and lovely staff . Excellent stay

This was our second Christmas spent @ the Tenaya Lodge @ Christmas and it didn't let us down! Sometimes Wnen you have such an amazing time the 1st year, the second year can't meet your expectations, but we brought 2 families with us, and the Tenaya exceeded our expectations and beyond!

The resort is amazing but two reasons why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. The waiter in the Grill was quite snobby but the guy that brought out our drinks (Jose or Juan?) was very cheerful and made up for the waiter. Second reason, when my kids and wife sat down on the sofas in the lobby, they got up only to have dog hair all over their pants. We had long been admirers of the hotel, having stopped in for hot cocoa one Christmas and stumbled upon a Gingerbread House workshop that has become an annual tradition. We even considered having our wedding here we loved it so much, so we were excited to stay here for an anniversary. The good: - incredibly friendly and helpful staff (valet, front desk, […] restaurants) - great location - lots of fun activities - knowledgable concierge The bad: - noise in hallways - they lost our reservation for a King room and tried to substitute a Double - we had 1 maintenance call, and 2 maintenance visits during our stay - housekeeping woke us up at 8AM despite DND signs - we basically didn't sleep the entire weekend That said, when we alerted the front desk, they did a partial refund and apologized profusely. It seems we just drew the short straw on an unusually busy weekend when they were training a bunch of staff, and thankfully we were so happy just to get away that we laughed about it. The hotel is very welcoming and charming. The room is of good size, well-equipped and tastefully furnished. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

I really felt pampered. the staff was so attentive and the rooms were so clean. we had several fantastic meals in the restaraunts located within the hotel and the food was delicious. the indoor pool was warm and very clean. the hot tubs..what can I say. i want one. so relaxing and there are robes located in the rooms to wear to the pool. comfortable […] beds, and a good shower. The hotel was amazing! It was definitely worth the money, as the rooms were huge, the TV was great, and the furniture was very comfortable. The only thing that could have been better was the location, since the hotel was pretty far south of the main attractions in Yosemite. Not too big of a deal, though, considering how nice the place was!

We stayed 3 nights at Tenaya Lodge. The service was excellent, particularly the valet parking service. All staff members were very helpful. I was especially grateful that the hotel had a guest laundry, as these are often hard to find.

Takes some time, but even close enough. Beatuful environment.

The facility was overall nice. Biggest complaint was the door didn't lock on all occassions. We really had to mess with it a bit and at times were debating on whether we could leave if we couldn't get it to lock. Didn't matter if you were inside or outside of the room.

We stayed in the cottages which were inside the hotel grounds. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. the hotel is situated just 2 miles out of the park and so its easy to gain access to the park but from the hotel to the valley floor or main trails its about an hours drive. Would definately reccommend this hotel.

The cabins consist of three per unit, two down and one up. The one up is for four people. There is no soundproofing so the people upstairs sound like they are in your room. Very noisy and disturbing. We did eat at the Sierra restaurant at the Lodge and it was very good as was the service. We found the reception staff and the staff coordinating seating […] at the restaurant (no reservations taken) indifferent at best. This hotel is about 2 miles outside of the south entrance to the park but Yosemite Village is about 35 miles away. Mariposa Grove is close and Glaciar Point is about a 40 minute drive. Great hotel, night manager Howard couldn't do enough for us and chatted for ages about area, hotel, wildlife, etc. Food in restaurants lovely.

The cottage was spacious, attractive and very comfortable. Very convenient for south Yosemite, but a 2-hour drive if you want to be in the north (Tioga Pass Road). Very good restaurants, which is a real bonus in the area.

This hotel is okay - decor is outdated and there were some issues such as the outlet around the bath vanity not working. But it was clean and personnel were nice. Wireless was intermittent - do not stay here if a wireless connection is important to you.

Very good hotel, great rooms. About an hours drive to the heart of Yosemite, which is fine, as it give the chance to drive through some fantastic areas.

We were vacationing at Yosemite with our 7-year old son. The Tenaya Lodge is great for families, with a large room and great location. It's a little over 2 miles from the South Entrance of Yosemite. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room is clean with a nice (although small) backyard. Our only complaint is about parking. We have permit for parking […] but could not find any spot when we returned at around 7:30 pm. It took some efforts to find a spot 5-minute walking from our room.
