Mission Inn - San Francisco

We arrived at 2:15. The guy at the front desk was quite rude and told me my room was not ready and to come back at 3:00. I had said that I thought check in was at 2:00 and he looked annoyed and said yeah. Then walked away. The room was ok at first glance but upon a further look there were places that had not been painted after repairs. The towels in […] the bathroom had long dark hairs on a few of them. Gross. There was a hole in the shower wall that was crudely patched. It was very noisy with people going in and out all night. There were cigarette burns all over our 'non smoking room'. Helpful staff, nice continental breakfast, sketchy neighborhood and clientele.

After all the negative reviews we were afraid to get this hotel but didn't have much choice because of the convenience of the location for our even.. We honestly got way much more than expected!!!! Staff was not so friendly, they charged me for an extra guest even though it was just a friend visiting. They do not have a "customers first" attitude. Not so clean as well. They advertise coffee in the lobby and that was not true.

spotlessly clean hotel managers friendly and helpful very pleasent when I arrived at 130AM helpful with local directionbs and in arranging transportation to airport at 4AM Free continental breakfeast was not bad good strong coffee

This was not in a good part of the mission district. There was a bullet hole in the window. I would not recommend this hotel.

Our flight was 2 hours late and I had called ahead to let them know that we would arrive late. Because there was a sign at the window stating "No Vacancy", no one would answer the window. I stood there about 10 minutes, yelling for service. He finally came out and was quite rude. Other than that, our stay was quite nice.

Not a great place ........price is right.......the breakfast totally sucked........peanut butter sandwiches........surely not a romantic SF Inn........three days was enough for me...........noisy.....could never sleep!!

we got there a bit early after a six hour drive. The front desk clerk was unfriendly and arrogant, I almost cancelled on the spot... the room doesn't look at all like the pictures on their site. This hotel was ok for one night. I booked a smoking room on-line, but when I got there I'm told it's a non-smoking room. That was really irritating and I had to initial a box agreeing to pay $100 extra if I smoked in the room or had a pet. The room itself was large and spacious with a nice view of city lights. They use OLD SCHOOL hotel keys that are […] long and awkward. I like the kind that fit in your wallet. This one does not. There was a sign next to the door that read "Check Out Time is at 11:00am. Any guests in their room after 11:00am will be charged an additional night." I think they enforce this policy because I checked out at 10:50am and at 10:55am a woman was trying to get in our room to clean she said. That's a bit much in my opinion. To be going in the room before guests are completely gone. I also think they go in the room right at check out time to see if there's smoke present to charge the additional $100. My room had a persistent nauseating cesspool odor emanating from the bathrrom. I went to complaint about it and the front desk lady told me that the odor came from chemical used to clean the bathroom and that she will send someone to spray air freshener. It did not help. I had to keep the bathrrom door closed at all times with its window opened to kind […] of alleviate the smelling situation. The carpet had a waxy feeling to it. The side of one of the armchair had some dirt glued underneath. The heat worked well. The room had a good layout but the smell permeated in eveything even in the box of tissues. This motel is not cheap when I was there. Regardless the price, condition of this motel is not good as I thought. When I got there, there was no gas in the bathroom. That makes me upset.

I felt like I was staying in a motel that has been used for illegal activities if you know what I mean Bop Bop

Good location, but bad neighborhood. No hot water for 2 days. Noisy but clean.

Hotel staff did not seem so friendly or welcoming, the room numbers are confusing and kind of hard to locate, too many doors that required room key to open, only one funky looking key, WiFi is horrible; can't get online at all, room looks old, saw ants on the bathroom floor.

Being poor college students, my wife and I were looking for a hotel that provides only the bare essentials for a low cost. Mission Inn was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed here for 5 nights, walking to and from the BART station about a mile away to get around town. We in the future will opt to pay more money and stay at a 4 star hotel even if we think we are getting a bargain rate. Was not familiar with the area at all, and the bed was too hard and small..ended up with a headache and backache. Loud neighborhood after 11 pm!!!! Happy 31st anniversary to us, couldn't wait to go home!!!!

Service was good, room was clean but VERY small. No iron in room, no hair dryer in room.. not appropriate if you have a lot of luggage!

It did not worth the cost. Room floor carpet was wet and when complained cut up old towels were delivered to the room to put on the floor. The room smelled strong detergent. Overerall a run down facility. Front desk was not friendly. Only good thing was somewhat closer to the airport. Also, free parking was ok. I will not stay there again.

The Mission Inn is great for people on a budget. It's a 15 to 30 min drive to downtown depending on traffic, but not in such a great neighborhood. The hotel is not the best ever, but forthe price it is good enough, just don't expect a 4 stars!

The facilities were suitable at an economical cost. The room was spacious and free of odors. Good housekeeping of the room.

Not the quality of neighborhood I was expecting, but close enough to the main attractions of San Francisco.

The best deal. Out of downtown San Francisco but not that far, you can take buses or your car. A good deal for quality and price

I plan to stay here again. You can't beat it for the price. The room was spacious, there is plenty of parking, and a light continental breakfast in the morning. Our room was clean, had a microwave and refrig, smelled good, and had a seperate vanity, which I loved because it gave me a place to get ready while my boyfriend was in the bathroom.

This was a nice place to lodge, with just above basic amenities; good value. BUT getting in and out of the area was difficult. The area freeway maze and highway congestion at rush hour made my 5 mile travel to S San Francisco a hair-raising 25min daily chore.

If you know your way around SF and only need a room for 1 or 2 nights than this is a good place to stay. The area it is in is not the best part of the city but we saw a great deal renovation taking place it this area. The one bed room we stayed in was small but clean, with a walk in shower. You have to travel 4-6 blocks toward the lower numbered streets […] to find a KFC or other fast food resturant and you need your own SF city guide if there is some particular place you are going. We were here to visit our son at SFSU and it served its purpose. It is 2 miles from the school which was very convenient....I would recommend staying her for a night or two
