The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was not very good at all. The hot food was not hot-there were cold spots in the scrambled eggs and the hash browns were cold. We did not have a good view even though we were on the ocean. The price was too high for what we got.
Staff very friendly and breakfast plentiful. Clean, but repairs done in room obvious to the eye. Bed too firm for me. Overall a good reasonably priced hotel for a weekend get-a-way.

This is an old Holiday Inn and it shows some signs of wear. We had an ocean front view, the staff at the front desk was friendly and overall we had a good stay. My wife and I agree though after staying at several hotels within a mile of this one that there is nothing except price that would make us book again. Ocean Shores was very dead but the stay was great. This was the best continental breakfast I have had anywhere.
"Birthday stay for my son..."
Extra effort was made to make my son's birthday fun and comfortable, and as he put it, and we did too after our stay, SPECTACULAR! Comfy beds, and although our son didn't make it to breakfast, we did and don't miss it! Hope to beat you to the rooms this summer...

"Guesthouse Inn Ocean Shores"
The owners of this hotel are amazing. The facility is clean and comfortable. This is the only hotel in Ocean Shores which offers a hot breakfast with the price of a room. I will stay here again.

owners were very friendly tremendous breakfast overall very very good stay would highly recommend
very nice facility. We felt very comfortable and safe there. The only problem we had was that the bathroom door wouldn't close (out of line or something) unless we slammed it really hard. We let the office know and they fixed it IMMEDIATELY.

I was not disappointed, the hotel was as stated in the ads. We were greated by a very accomodating front desk staff at checkin. The room was clean warm and comfortable with room rates to match. My only complaints were the room was located above the pool so there was the odor of chlorine when we first arrived and on our last night someone in a room on […] the floor below ran the jetted tub till around 1am but the rest of the stay was very quiet and peaceful. I believe the people working the counter a majority of the time are the owners. They went out of their way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The hotel is pretty old but well kept and clean. Our room was very big and there was a pretty good hot breakfast available complimentary! Overall a great experience!

I had some work to do and was looking for a quiet get way. Guesthouse worked out perfectly. Though, the room did not have the desk I thought I was promised...I made do with the small table, supplied. By myself, on the 1st floor , the next time I would ask not to be below a family with children. "Decent for Ocean Shores but View not Great"
The configuration of this hotel is odd....The "Oceanfront" view rooms aren't exactly ocean front. You have to be standing right in front of the narrow window to see the ocean from an angle. I would have rather saved the money, as there wasn't really a view. Otherwise, hotel is a bit old, but generally well maintained. Staff was sparse but friendly.

This hotel is on the beach but it does take a bit of a walk to get to the waterside part of the beach. The views are nice but windows don;t open very wode so you can't hear the surf and the frogs at night. :-( Didn't get a chance to try the free breakfast but it looked REALLY good. Besides located so conveniently next to the beach, and so many stores, we were very comfortable staying here. From the day we arrived we were greeted very courteously, and w/o even asking, they offered us an upgrade to a suite/ocean view, at a very low cost. The room has most of the amenities you would expect, microwave/fridge/sink, coffee maker, comfortable […] beds, free warm breakfast buffet, free wifi location on each floor, pool was pleasant, and the customer service was amazing. We stayed here for a spur of the moment trip to the shore, and this hotel was fantastic. We were in a renovated room on the 3rd floor with a perfect view of the ocean, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was unbelievably spacious. Young at the front desk was just delightful and very helpful. "Nice place"
Having stayed at several hotels in Ocean Shores, the one thing that always makes my nose wrinkle is the "wet" smell of some of the hotels. This one did not have that, it was clean and fresh. The hot breakfast was plentiful and pretty good. The hostess even had a decent cold breakfast the morning we woke without any power! Pool was clean and hot tub […] was warm. I will admit, the bed was a bit on the uncomfortable side, but overall it was a good place that we will plan to go to again. The hosts at Guesthouse were gracious and wonderful people. The hot breakfast was the best that I've had in a hotel. When a storm blew through and we had no electricity, there was hot coffee for us in the morning. Bcause of our experience at GuestHouse, we will return to Ocean Shores and our choice of a hotel will be the GuestHouse Inn & Suites.

Pleasant stay. Minor condition issues in room- a dent in the bathroom door. Outside condition a little worn looking, but fresh paint and clean carpets inside. It did seem like they were understaffed. There was an awkward 10 minute wait at check-in while we waited for someone to appear, and at the crowded breakfast, coffee and juice both ran dry before […] being replenished. But we enjoyed the stay. The location was good, the rooms and windows are angled for a pretty good view of the dunes and ocean which is about 500 yards away, but also as close as you get, I think. We had a suite with 2 queen beds and a separate sitting area with couch tv table and chairs. Small fridge, kitchen sink, coffee pot and microwave. Room was very large! That was very nice!! A half wall separated the living area from the sleeping area. But DO NOT BE CONFUSED, the sleeping area is NOT private, or closed off from everyone else in the room. […] The 2 beds are side by side. Customer service said the suite had a separate bedroom, this is NOT the case!! Pool was fun but the room needs ventilation. Tooooo much chlorine, my eyes were burning and I was sneezing like crazy. The breakfast buffet was down stairs in the dining area of the lobby and was pretty decent. Eggs, bacon, sausage. Biscuits and gravy. Muffins, toast, bagels, waffle making station, fruit, OJ, apple juice,and coffee. Also milk and cereal for the kids! Overall nice place, would stay again if traveling with only my children. The hotel was very accommodating and even provided us with a very nice buffet breakfast. We had a view room and the room was very spacious. We would recommend this hotel for a couple or a family who are looking to be close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants in the area. The casino is just a short driving distance away also.

The owners of this hotel are very attentive. It appears to be owned/managed by a couple. The male half was very attentive to the maintenance and made sure that everything was perfect in the pool area and that the spa temperature was perfect. Jesse at the hotel was very helpful. It's the middle of winter and he opened up the pool at 7pm just for me and my wife.They were very nice and helpful and I will be staying there on my next trip to the beach. The room was very clean and maintained.

Check in time was listed as 4:00, but when we arrived a few minutes after 4, our room wasn't ready, so we were given another room that had not had the heat turned on. Took hours for it to warm up on a cold winter day. And why or why don't hoteliers put a light and table on both sides of the bed? "Centrally located hotel in Ocean Shores"
The Guesthouse Inn and Suites hotel was centrally located on the main street in Ocean Shores. From the hotel, we were able to walk to the beach, to gift shops, and to restraunts. I'll definately visit again.

We stayed one night at the hotel, check in was fast and our room was clean and quiet. We had the free breakfast in the morning which was very good. Overall, a nice stay and we will come back again.

"not a ocean view hotel"
If you want an ocean view room, you should choose other hotel. While most other hotels/motels are facing the ocean, this hotel is facing away from the ocean except for the two suite rooms on each floor. I reserved a room with "partial ocean view" but we were offered a room on the first floor, which made it almost impossible to see the ocean because […] there were bushes/trees in front of the hotel. Also, the breakfast made the hotel look really stingy like going to a party where a host doesn't have enough food, so the guests end up just drinking juice, water, etc. This hotel had even run out a water down juice. Hotel guests were very patient, so they were waiting for more bread, bacon, coffee, etc for a while. Positive things about this hotel were its location. Right next to beach access, and its big room.
