"My favorite place to stay in Chicago"
My ONLY complaint about the Tremont Hotel is that there is NO vending machines or snack foods or drinks available. When I got back to the hotel at 11 pm after a long day, I just wanted to lay down & relax. I thought it would be nice to have a Coke or cup of coffee & maybe a snack before bed so I called down and asked where the vending machines were. […] (No coffee maker in the room either) I was informed that there were none on the property. The closest place to go get something was a 10 minute walk to Walgreens. Since it was raining, I settled for the warm bottle of complimentary water sitting on the desk.... It's not THAT big of a deal. But how difficult is it to have ONE soda machine? the hotel was in an excellent location and the bed was very comfy but overall the room did not appear well maintained. Halls are dingy, elevator excruciatingly slow, chipped paint, etc. It is, however a place to stay (bed was comfortable) ver close to the Mag Mile as long as all you want to do is sleep. It appeared the bathroom had been renovated more recently than anything else but not completely, i.e., new tile […] floor but the basin faucet would not turn off without hitting it with an object (in lieu of a wrench, which I didn't happen to bring with me.) The hotel is located very close to the north shore attractions, which is wonderful and convenient for out of town guests. There are hidden charges though to be careful of...the main one being the complimentary breakfast. It is not complimentary. No where did it tell you about the charge for the less than satisfactory breakfast. We simply went in and […] sat down. They asked our room number, which we assumed was to make sure we were staying at the hotel, then we had a cold breakfast which didn't befit such a lovely place. As we were checking out, we were told the breakfast had been charged to us for $9.95/person. We were outraged mostly because it was never told to us, printed on sign...NOTHING. So be careful. Also there is no fridge, and you must call for ice. There is no vending in the hotel. There is a charge for parking of $54/day. You can park down the street in the garage for $37/day. "Acceptable hotel; could be better."
The service was great all in all, and everyone was plenty friendly. The housekeeping attempted to knock only on one of the three mornings we were there and directly tried to enter the other times. There's only one moderately busy elevator, which did not make living on the 14th floor very convenient. The main reason I give this hotel 3 stars overall […] is because that is what its value deserves. While the cost for each night is acceptable, parking in the area is expensive, and the hotel's valet parking is even more expensive at $54. Would not recommend if a car is part of the party. "Perfect last minute trip to Chicago!"
Perfect location! Magnificent Mile and Hancock Building within 2 blocks! Starbucks directly across the street. Public parking close by. Maria at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with local attractions. Room was small but clean and perfect for 2. "Great value, great customer service, great locatio"
This is the first time I've taken time to write a review. I was so pleased with this hotel!! The staff and level of customer service was fantastic! "Unforgettable experience. .."
We loved the atmosphere the Tremont bought.We thought it should have had a swimming pool, or exercise room. Would have also loved a hot breakfast menu instead of just cold entrées, but the staff were friendly and helpful, that would make us return again.Autentické hodnotenie hosťa Hotels.com
