I was only passing through LA and had a 5 or 6 hour layover overnight and wanted to a place near LAX to shower and relax. The hotel was perfect for that. The price was reasonable. Nothing to complain about. It was close to the airport and the shuttle service was rather prompt (and free). This hotel is excellent in every way apart from the time taken waiting for an elevator. There are three in the main concourse but only two were working while I was there and on one occasion one of these was being used by hotel staff. "Nice Hotel Close to LAX"
The Sheraton is a nice hotel a few minutes from LAX. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff is considerate. There isn't much nearby (just other hotels) but it's just a 5 minute drive from dozens of great restaurants in Marina Del Rey. There are restaurants on the premises as well. There was very little parking and after returning from dinner we had to circle and circle until we found a spot. It was in a very deep underground parking, the top of the roof was literally 2 inches from the top of our truck and we paid 20 dollars in parking to park there! The room was nice and clean, more business then family, no frig, or microwave. […] It is right on the airport, but the noise of the planes did not bother us, we sleep quiet soundly. Seemed to be mostly tour groups staying in the hotel. We would return if we needed a hotel close to the airport again. Only stayed for quick nap and shower after redeye flight and before morning meeting (0600-0900). Common areas and lobby were well decorated and updated. Felt intimidated at the amount of security guards at the entrance and reception area of the hotel. They dominated the area, At least 6 very tall men at anyone time. My wife and I had a 1 day layover in LA and wanted to visit the city. The shuttle from/to the airport was easy to use and quick. The room was OK (small and basic - we didn't need more) but could be better soundproof. "The extra costs get you if you aren't careful!"
The evening valet all but refused to park our car for us. But, he was all too happy to accept tips for the smallest kindness. We were double charged for the tip on room service.
