The staff was nice, but there was an overwhelming smell of must and cigarette smoke in and just outside our room. There was even an air purifyer just outside our room that ran non stop. He had an irate customer that was yelling at him however he kept him cool and was very professional which was impressive. The Location is Perfect- it is on a strip called "The Walk" so you can park your car at the hotel and walk and within two blocks hit several restaurants, coffee, wine & cheese bar, ice cream, etc! Great location. Restaurants in the next block, along with several stores. Staff was friendly. A/C worked very well. Updated furnishings (no ugly flowered bedspreads!) Nice breakfast in large room. Breakfast attendant was the most efficient we have ever seen! Kept everything well stocked and clean. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with LaQuinta. We stayed there just one night because we got stuck from the terrible weather conditions of TS Isaac last month. We were heading on a road trip and needed a place for 1 night. I did not expect much but was thoroughly surprised at how nice, clean and comfortable the room was. And so many tv channels!! I think your carpeting in the hallways needs to replace. In anon smoking room which I was in I can still smell smoke in my room. I think smoking should be only outside of the building.
