"Quick Visit Back Home...."
The hotel is in an excellent location for me when I visit my hometown and unable to stay with family. The biggest downfall of this hotel, and it's been ongoing, is the carpet and tile in the rooms. The carpet in the halls is okay but the carpet in the rooms are very dark, old, and in need of stretching. Some places the carpet is bunching. If they would […] just invest in some new better looking carpet it would brighten the place up and people wouldn't complain about it being "nasty" "dirty" and "run down". The tile in the bathrooms are loose and that's where the "mildew" musty odor is coming from. You can smell it as soon as you walk in the room. The linoleum in the "kitchenette" are is peeling up off the floor and looks very nasty too. All it would take to bring this hotel up and justify the price rates is some new flooring. This Econolodge is in the final process of upgrades. The staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive. The breakfast consisted of cereal, muffins, toast, coffee and orange juice and was more than adequate. The price charged for the room was fair. I really can't complain about much. My only real issue was the breakfast. There wasn't much to choose from. They had a little cereal and the tiny (dry) muffins. When my employee arrived at the hotel. The check-in was done in a promp manner. His only complaint was that the heat was off in the room when he arrived. I was expecting more out of the hotel especially for the price. The breakfast included was juice and some cereals very unimpressed. The hotel was very dark and grungy looking.
