Great location, very helpful staff. But the rooms need to be painted. We asked to be moved from the first room, I opened the window and a smell of sewerage came in from outside. We were moved straight away, without any fuss. Breakfast was great.

This hotel is in a great location and is well-appointed. Staff are friendly and helpful. BUT our room (509) had bed bugs. One of us has sensitive skin and had a bad allergic reaction, resulting in bright pink lesions on arms, legs, and back. I recently stayed at the Metropole hotel and I didn't like it and here's why: 1) I felt unsafe in the hotel - the door locks are old flimsy door locks that one might put on a bathroom door, not a secure hotel room door. The doors can easily be opened with a credit card. 2) Athough the hotel is in a decent area, it's run down and old, and falling apart. 3) […] I put the do not disturb sign on my door, and the cleaning staff still entered the room and actually moved things around. I suspected theft, but nothing seemed to be missing. Also, the safe did not work, so I locked my bags (because of the shady locks and general lack of security). 4) Too expensive for what you get - way too expensive. Excellent location, good quality hotel, great service, right in the heart of the city, next to main train station to Sintra and Porto. Metro across the square, regular events ion the city square. Restraunts at the door. Couldnt ask for a better hotel....

This little hotel did not have all the swanky modern bells and whistles, but it was a gem from the 1920's with the original furnishings kept up in beautiful condition. While upgraded with modern safety codes and air conditioning, it reminded me of being a place the English used to winter in. I half expected Hercule Poirot to join us for the English […] breakfast. Yes, the rooms were "old" but in excellent shape with beautiful carpentry and finish. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on the way to Algarve. This is probably the best location you can get in Lisbon if you came for sightseeing. This hotel has known better times, as many other places in Lisbon. If you don't expect to spend much time in your room-it will work for you. Washroom,bed, and TV. Our room was small and narrow, […] high ceiling. Staff is very friendly. Do not expect a "postcard view" as the number of Rossio square view rooms is very limited and. Most likely you will be looking at a wall in the little alley behind the hotel. You can always come back to the hotel during the day if you need to- Lisbon is very compact and, again, this hotel is right in the heart of it. Windows open completely, breakfast is very basic, don't expect much. Internet is free in the lobby, wireless. Our door lock was based on trust, inside was a little hook- old outhouse style that can be open with fingers from the outside, so if you are obsessed with security you will be disappointed. There is a security safe in the room, it is free, ask for the keys downstairs. When we were there, it was very noisy, both from the street and from the inside- sounded like impact drill all day long, starting from the early morning. Do not forget you earplugs, highest NNR possible! As per staff, taxi fare is around 10 euros from the airport, we were charged 30 euros. It was 6 am and we looked like tourists/suckers. In downtown Lisbon you will be approached by drug dealers all the time, not only near the hotel. It is unpleasant and annoying as well as beggars, bums and sellers of junk. They will go away if you ignore them. The police is everywhere so it feels safe. I will give this hotel 5 for location and 2 for everything else. this hotel's location is the best thing about it. right on the busy square at Rossio - everything from metro/train stations, restaurants and the Barrio Alto only around the corner. after reading other reviews we thought it might be noisy but We didnt think it was - we had a room that was at the back of the hotel though so could have made a difference […] but the noise is there during the day and not at night so much so never even featured for us. perfect spot for a break for the girls. rooms are adequate, you must remember you are in the very centre of the city and for this price you couldn't beat it. the staff were very helpful and breakfast is self cerve continental. our only complaint was that the shower fixture was broken on the wall and so you had to hold it up to use it but i'm sure thats fixed by now anyway. the bed was slightly short too! Helt greit byhotell, super sentral beliggenhet. Litt slitt, men gammel autentisk stil har jo sin sjarm. Ekstremt harde madrasser, bør supplere med nye overmadrasser!

Fomos bem recebidos, porem não atendeu a nossas necessidades de conforto, par o periodo de viagem que estávamos. Pessoal estremanente cortes e compreensivo. Recomendo, pela localização e pelo atendimento. As camas poderiam ser melhores

Lite, koselig sentralt hotell i sentrum med gangavstand til det meste av attraksjoner. Enkel, men god interkontinental frokost. Rommet var rent og pent.

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt og fint i forhold til mulige aktiviteter/severdigheter. Det eneste minus er den støyen om natten ved 3-4 tiden hvor de henter søppelet eller noe, samt at man hører folk i gaten som er på vei hjem.. vårt rom var ellers stort nok, mot bakgård. Du kan lukke vinduet og ha air-condition på.. For noen få dager helt greit. Det […] viktigste er belligenheten, sentralt. Taxi like ved. og nært trikk 28 og 15 eller annet og ved shoppinggatene. O hotel Metrópole está muito bem localizado na Baixa Pombalina, com acesso fácil a metrô, ônibus normal e de turismo, próximo a várias atrações mas peca pelas acomodações. As camas rangem, os móveis estão velhos, tem apartamentos com portas arrombadas e que não fecham direito. O café da manhã é bonzinho e os funcionários prestativos.

Hotelli oli mukava ja siisti perushotelli, loistava sijainti, ystävällinen palvelu, aamupala oli hyvää. Kokonaisuus toimi loistavasti ja hinta-laatu-suhde oli kohdallaan. Ehdottomasti suosittelen!

Det eneste er at da vi hengte opp "Don't disturb" skilt, for å kunne hvile, kom de likevel inn på rommet. Dette ble ikke respektert. Ellers alt bra!

Das Hotel Metropole hat durch seine schöne Lage -Blick auf das Castello und den Rossio- gleich für einen überaus gelungenen Urlaubsauftakt gesorgt. Vom Balkon der Zimmer bekommt man jeden Morgen erneut Lust,die Stadt zu erkunden. Wer eine Stadt gerne zu Fuß erkunden möchte ist hier genau richtig. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten oder zumindest die Abfahrt dorthin sind in bequemer Laufdistanz erreichbar. Die Auswahl an Lokalen für die Ruhepausen ist riesig. Und der Flughafenbus hält vor der Tür!!! Mehr kann man sich gar nicht wünschen.

O hotel é muito bom, com serviço e instalações muito bons, perto de tudo, até mesmo de estações de metrô, trem e ônibus. Apenas o café da manhã poderia ser um pouco mais variado. Um hotel onde ficaria novamente e recomendaria a amigos.

We stayed a few days at this hotel in the middle of Lisbon. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, especially when it came to my gluten intolerance. There is a nearby store which sells special food and they provide the hotel with any special food the guest would need. For me it was glutenfree bread and they also had lactose free milk, jam for […] diabetics etc. We recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to live close to shopping and famous sights in Lisbon! Er du ute etter sentral beliggenhet passer dette hotellet godt. Dersom du ønsker komfort er ikke hotellet særlig tilfredsstillende. Overall under middels. Den lave scoren kommer kanskje av forventningene prospektet på hotellet gav.

Vi uppskattade att bo så centralt. Dubbelsängen var väl hård.

Prinzipiell ist dieses charmante Hotel optimal gelegen und der Service ist genügend, d.h. ein paar Schritte aus dem Hotel und alles steht einem zur Verfügung. Zwei kleine "Wölkchen" muss ich jedoch erwähnen: Das Hotel sollte auf ein Frühstück lieber verzichten, denn die Kapazität der Sitzplätze ist viel zu klein, d.h. wenn man um 09.00 Uhr frühstücken […] will, hat man keine Chance, ausser man nimmt sein Früstück stehend ein... Und das Angebot ist auch ziemlich beschränkt. Etliche Restaurants bieten in der Umgebung günstige Alternativen. Dann wurde uns eine Touri-Karte für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel "angedreht", Beim ersten Besteigen eines Trames wurden wir darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass dieses Ticket für doch EUR 18 pro Person nur auf zwei "Touri-Linien" gültig sind. Das personal sollte diesbezüglich besser geschult werden oder diese Dienstleistung lieber gar nicht anbieten. Im Grossen und Ganzen kann ich dieses Hotel mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen. Extremely well located hotel in the very center of Lisbon. The airport shuttle stops just outside the hotel entrance. Clean and friendly. Very nice breakfast! The only thing you should avoid is buying coffee at the restaurant in the same building. Extremely overpriced and not very nice.

Metropole er et gammelt hotel med super beliggenhed midt på Rossio, med kort gå afstand til Alfarma og Bairro Alto, restauranter og shopping. Selve hotellet er gammelt og charmerende med indretning hvor man har bevaret stemningen fra 20'erne da det startede som hotel. Dog med en renovering og comfort. Utroligt søde og hjælpsomme i receptionen. Morgenmaden […] var fin uden at udmærke sig på nogen måde udover de hyggelige omgivelser. Der er lidt lydt og nogen støj fra gaden, men det er ikke slemt. Man skal vælge Metropole hvis man ønsker beliggenhed og ånd, frem for luxus og modernitet. Vi vil absolut vælge hotellet igen og anbefaler det. Ďalšie informácie

Bon hôtel, bien situé (parfait pour un séjour court), mais comme il a déjà été noté par d'autres visiteurs, deux problèmes que l'hôtel devrait s'empresser de résoudre, surtout le premier : Le lit : pour deux, il est très étroit, et de plus "grince" et le matelas est de piètre qualité. Mon mari et moi sommes très déçu par cet Hôtel, tout y est vieux ,désué et sérieusement branlant. Le lit craquait au moindre mouvement,les peintures sont défraichies,les meubles sont vieillots et la salle d'accueil qui donne sur la belle place de Lisbonne, à une déco vraiment hors d'âge,avec des meubles dépareillés et très fatigués. Dommage ,car cet […] hôtel est idéalement bien situé. La pièce prévue pour le petit déjeuner est un véritable réduit et nous plaignons le personnel de l'accueil, qui a son bureau dans un placard sombre et triste. Very good location halfway between city center and Douro shoreline. Very helpful personnel. Basic but very satisfactory breakfast. Porto was a very nice place to visit even in January!

Hotellet har flott beliggenhet i Lisboa handlestrøk med gangavstand til "det meste". Rommene vi bodde på var ganske slitt og det er på tide med renovering av rom/bad. Sjarmerende beliggenhet og hyggelig betjening. Ønsker du å bo sentralt i Lisboa er dette absolutt å anbefale.

L'aria condizionata era rumorosissima, la vista pessima sul retro di un vicolo. Nei corridoi e nelle stanze era persistente un odore sgradevole.

Hotellet har fin standard, når man først er kommet ind med sin bagage (ligger på 1. sal). Særdeles god beliggenhed og servicen er rigtig god. Vi fandt hjælsomhed overalt .
