Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino - Maho

The hotel and Lobby upon arrival do not show well. The Beach and the pools are nice. The area around the hotel is very inner city and not somwwhere you would take a stroll. Some of the male wait staff do not treat women well. They are incredibly stingy with the towels.

Close o airport. Two pools were both relaxing and scenic. They allowed us to add aperson to our room, last minute.

While this hotel is convenient to the airport and the room was clean - it was very dated and dumpy. Not what I would expect for almost $400 for the night.

The perfect begin and end point of our Caribbean island hopping vacation.

The hotel has comfortable, clean rooms. It is very close to the airport, but we did not find the sound of the planes disturbing. View on the landing of the (few) big planes from the beach(front) of the hotel is spectacular. The street in front of the hotel provides for a (small) supermarket, bank/ATM and several restaurants (e.g. Sopranos) and bars […] (e.g. Cheri's Cafe and Sopranos Pianobar). Do not stay here, the front counter staff will just ignore you, whenever they want they simply walk off. The manager has no controll of the staff and will not address the problems you will encounter. When checking out they tried to double charge me. Stay away!!!! If they get agood review it must be someone who works there.

This hotel should be condemed. It is filthy with Roaches everywhere. People who ate there New Years Eve got foord poisoning.. There was virtually a riot in the hotel waiting room due to guests complaints that the manager would do nothing about. Very convenient to the airport. You can walk to the beach bars where the planes land. Very nice room. Overall much easier than driving through Simpson to Phillipsburg.

FOUND THE HOTEL, FOOD, SERVICE ALL VERY MEDIOCRE. FOUND THE LACK OF ANY WARM WATER WHAT-SO-EVER UNACCEPTABLE. MENTIONED THIS AT CHECK OUT AND THERE WAS NO OFFER TO KNOCK OFF A FEW DOLLARS FROM THE BILL OR ANYTHING. I WON'T GO BACK.

I am a "Travel Pass Preferred" member at this hotel and have stayed there 3 times in the last 3 months. I made the requisite email well ahead of time to let them know that I wanted all the things associated with being a "Preferred" member of their loyalty program. Overnight stay to catch 8 am flight to Miami. Perfect location to get ready for return after a great time in Anguilla. Beach and pool fine with plenty good eats nearby. No shuttle to airport 1 mile away as advertized...$8 plus tip for cab! Also free internet for patrons of cafe across the road.

Staff were very professional and friendly, room was very clean and spacious with a nice view of the Dutch mountains and the beginning of the runway, and complimentary welcome rum punch was a nice way to start our stay. We will return again in July and September.

IT WAS LESS THAN 12 HOURS STAY PUT IT WAS A PLEASANT STAY.

Located literally 5 minutes from the airport which is great after traveling. What about the plane noise. I noticed it once in 4 days. The staff is hard working and friendly as opposed to some places on the French side. The rooms could use a a little work but if you are not high maintenance you will be happy at the Sonesta. Everything was perfect. Room was exceptionally clean, grounds were very well kept, location was great but front desk service was extremely slow and unfriendly.

Very satisfied with the room, view, location. Many things available close by. Staff could not be nicer. Food was good. The whole experience was far better than the other Hotel i stayed at in Marigot three weeks before. Would deffininately recommend to anyone.

Unfortunately I cannot rate this hotel as the greatest part of my trip. The front desk attendant was very rude and not to mention the service at the grill. It was a very disappointing stay.

The worst check in in my life, 2 1/2 hours with no concern for me. I was 15 people checked in before me and i was told me room was not ready.

Seems the staff - especially the front desk - need continued improvement. Hotel room vent was covered in dust upon check in & called housekeeping to clean - they did with bleach (wonderful) which is terrible on the sinus' so had to air out the room - only to get road and music noise. Recently spent a week at the Sonesta Maho (mid April 2010). Was very pleased with the experience. Its an older property but is very well maintained and clean. Had room with Garden/Pool view. No complaints about service. Enjoyed the pool area and deck chair area overlooking the ocean. The location is near airport but had immediate access to shopping, […] good restaurants and the Casino. Not in the main heart of Phillipsburg. Hotel has a program director that helps you plan other activities, including scuba diving, islands tours, boat tours,e tc. The Spa was excellent. Short cab ride to Simpson Bay for additional restaurant area. Sunset Bar and Grill was great outdoor bar on other side of beach where you could watch the planes land and take off over the beach. I stay here for business because it's convenient and I always hope it will improve. The entire tower section smells of cigarettes, it hits you as you enter the lobby and doesn't leave until you are in your room. The A/C never gets cool enough. We were too hot to sleep comfortably and it tooks 2 days for us to get a fan. The lighting in the bathroom […] is terrible, forget about applying makeup. They charge for internet access. The room did look nice, not typical caribbean deco. Location is great and it has free parking to hotel guests. Other hotels in St. Maarten are better because they usually have a kitchenette. Do not dine at La Charolais. They thought I was a tourist, treated me like dirt, food was average and said the "tax" was not gratuity. There is no such tax. Nice hotel,great location,only complaints are toilet was broken,maids dont refill everything as they should,coffee machine wasnt cleaned after use,but we were pleased with everything else.

The hotel badle needs an update

A very old, tired property that is fortunately located in a very convenient location near the airport and allows easy access to both the French and Dutch sides of the island. There are so many more better resorts on the island that can be found for reasonable price points.

We had a great 4 days there - the hotel people were great and very kind. I would recommend this hotel for everyone!

Bom hotel em todos aspectos !!

Tenho apenas elogios a tecer. Excelente hotel, próximo ao aeroporto e dispõe de opçoes de restaurante e entretenimento próximos. Piscinas, sauna, três restaurantes, praia privativa e eum visual de tirar o fôlego.Certamente me hospedarei novamente neste hotel.

No Chekin in as funcionárias foram muito demoradas, até mesmo complicadas. Às 15:00 hs, o quarto não estava pronto, nem às 19:00 hs. Porém, sempre gentis.

HOTEL TRES AGREABLE. BIEN PLACE DANS UN CONTEXTE TRES ANIME SURTOUT LE SOIR. BEAUCOUP DE RESTAURANTS ET DE MAGASINS. SHOPPING INTERESSANT. POINT FAIBLE : LE PERSONNEL DES RESTAURANTS ET DES BARS N'EST PAS SYMPATHIQUE. LE RESTE DU PERSONNEL EST CORRECT.

Cet hôtel est composé de deux blocs. L'un où se trouve la réception, et où effectivement c'est la partie émergée de l'iceberg, les prestations sont à la hauteur des tarifs pratiqués. セントマーチン島の最終日に１泊のみ利用しました。 ・ﾁｪｯｸｲﾝの際に予約がｷｬﾝｾﾙされていると言われ、ちょっとあせりました。少々時間がかかりましたが、確認してもらい、チェックイン時間前でしたが、部屋に入れてもらえました。 ・部屋は予約どおりのプールビューで、到着する飛行機が見えました。廊下も広く、ゆったりしたホテルでした。 ・着陸する飛行機で有名なマホビーチへは歩いて簡単に行けます。飛行機好きにはたまらないホテルです。 ・飛行場へはタクシーを利用しましたが、１０分もかからず、＄８＋ﾁｯﾌﾟ（2011.5現在）でした。
