Extended Stay was a very basic accommodation. Service was so-so (not great). Not much in the way of amenities. Location is on Richmond Road -- so good if that part of town is your goal. "no frills, no disasters, but very little service.."
room was adequate - bathroom tiny, without exhaust fan - toilet "cramped" - scavenger hunt to find unused electrical outlets - only real difficulty was service - 1) got in late, and tired - was made to wait about 15 minutes while front desk guy worked on what very much appeared to be a personal computer problem with a tech or buddy... 2) reserved room […] for three - they only provided towels for two... 3) requested extra towel and pillows the next night - took 3 hours and an additional phone request to get the pillows... I had made a reservation for 4 adults in a non smoking double room. We had 1 towel, 1 bar of soap and 1 shampoo. Since 3 of us were women, I asked and was given more amenities. BUT-- they charged my credit card $18.00 for the favor!! Plus there was a leak somewhere in the vicinity of the bathroom, and the floor from the sink over to the bathroom door […] was wet. It is standard practice to swipe guest credit cards at check in to pre-authorize them and ensure they are valid. We immediately issued a refund after the card was mistakenly charged and confirmed the $18 charge was removed. I apologize for any inconvenience. Regarding the leak, it was fixed as soon as it was reported to us at checkout. We encourage guests to report any issues as soon as they notice them so they can be corrected during the stay, whether it means checking you into a different room or popping in to quickly tighten a pipe. "management offers warm welcome/hospitality"
We were looking for "extended stay" accomodations. In our experience,that description is pretty specific...it means a kitchen area with stovetop, refrigerator w/freezer area, microwave along with dishes, flatware, pots/pans,glassware. Much to our surprise ours was a standard sized motel room--with a large domestic refrigerator!..no utensils, stovetop, […] nothing...and a broken round table for "dining" that really could not be used. For whatever reasons our room was not attended to while we were gone all day doing business. We arrived late that evening to unmade beds, etc. No coffee packets,etc.. Very poor attention to detail on the part of managemnt. . We mentioned this to the office, they responded with gracious apologies and gave us towels, coffee packets etc. for the next day. We appreciated the ongoing graciousness and friendliness of the management, however that doesn't cover up poor attention to detail and descriptions of kind of hotel that is not accurate. Nevertheless our beds were fine, exhausted from the day'swork...we slept well. Not all extended stays have full kitchens - our is among the ones that offer full-size fridges and microwaves to accommodate people who stay long term. Extended stays are often defined as such because of steeply discounted rates for longer stays. We accurately advertise our amenities, which do not include pots/pans/dishes, etc. I'm sorry your room was not cleaned, and glad staff took care of it right away! We offer daily housekeeping for guests that stay less than one week, and weekly service for guests who stay a full week or longer. Rooms are not cleaned if a "Do no disturb" sign is on the door. After checking in (which was easy and very pleasant), I turned on the television in my room. It didn't work. I called the front desk, and had someone there to fix it quickly. "A good low-price option"
There is nothing fancy about the Bluegrass Extended Stay, but if you simply need an inexpensive place to stay for a night or two, it's a good bet. The people working the front desk were very friendly, the coffee and donuts available in the morning were surprisingly good, and the neighborhood the hotel is situated in felt very safe. (Right next to a […] Starbucks too!) Best of all, the hotel is convenient to driving into downtown Lexington. Drawbacks: the beds were uncomfortable, our room was connected by a locked door to the next room (and our neighbors were loud), the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been, and only two small towels were provided. Not a bad place to stay for a few nights. No bells and whistles, but good housekeeping and fairly quiet nights. Close to UK and on the main road leading into downtown. I do like the hotel I stayed at and the location. I didn't like the fact that the maids didn't pull my sheets when they made my bed. The beds are small and lumpy and the pillows are tooo flat. I know they have a certain time to clean the rooms, but if I ask you to come back then come back within 5 minutes and clean, change and empty the trash.This is […] the first time I actually wrote a comment this bad. I've stayed at the Bluegrass Extended Stay before and I don't remember my bed being so lumpy (maybe because I only stayed two nights, but this time I stayed 5 days). We were very pleased with this hotel. The rates were reasonable. There was a nice sized refrigerator, a microwave, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board in the room. This motel was perfect for our purposes--reasonably priced, convenient to our destination. We will defintiely be staying there again since we have a family memeber who just moved to the area. "Just right for our in and out stay."
We arrived about 10:30pm and were gone by 7:00am so we had little time awake. The rate was awesome for what we got. The room was small but so was the price, perfect for our trip. "It Does The Job"
At first, I thought I was going to be severely disappointed. Why? Because when I booked the room via Hotels.com, there was only 1 room left and it was a smoking room (I'm a non-smoker). But after seeing that another hotel had the same amenities I was looking for for 4x the price, I decided to book the last room at the Bluegrass Extended Stay. Things […] got better when I arrived there the next day and learned that they had many non-smoking rooms available. So I was able to enjoy my stay there without any additional problems. My room did not have a full kitchenette though - only a full-size fridge/freezer and microwave (no kitchen sink, stove, or oven). But that is definitely better than nothing at all. I think it should be noted that the bathroom sink appeared to be quite low for a person of my stature (over 6 feet tall) - having the sink be at roughly above my knees. Perhaps it was built with the thought of accommodating much shorter people. Anyways, no bed bugs or spiders to worry about, no filthy carpets, and no noisy neighbors. For those of you who like to watch TV - I did not manage to find any premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc.). Staying at Bluegrass Extended Stay was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and each day the staff tidied the room and replaced towels, When I asked for decaf coffee, they gladly gave me some. Clean room with comfotable beds. Good choice if you need a place to spent the night. Don't count on breakfast. On our first morning, about 9 AM there was no more coffee and acording to the desk person they had run out of sweet rolls (the only food offered) a couple hours earlier. "Adequate accommodations"
For the price this hotel was adequate. The handicapped bathroom was one of the best we've had. Most places use bars only and call it handicapped, but this one was equipped for a wheel chair with a lowered sink and rack to hang clothes. That was a plus. The service clerk was not at all helpful and didn't seem to know much about the local area concerning […] our questions. Coffee, hot water for tea were available as were donuts in the mornings for their continental breakfast. The clock radio in our room did not work and the lamps were a bit shaky on the nightstands. We have stayed in worse places and spent more money. We would return if we just wanted a place to sleep, but would not want to spend a lot of time in the room. Overall...it was satisfactory.
