Although the room (1 queen bed) was small compared to other places we have stayed in this area, the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The towels provided in the bathroom were large and thick. "fun and friendly"
They've done a really good job of turning a somewhat dated building into a stylish and comfortable hotel. Definitely a good value for the money, and the service was great. We especially enjoyed the puzzles in our room.
"Not what it looks like online at all"
The nicest thing about this hotel was the art and the staff. Small boxy rooms with paper thin floors and limited room service. Not nice for thie price at all.
1. The service staff was outstanding and the front desk staff ranks among the best I've ever experienced in years of traveling around the world. 2. The breakfast was much better than the average US motel breakfast. 3. The room was very well designed, but unfortunately was next to the Fitness Center (and thus I could hear the treadmills in my room during […] the day) and apparentely a ventilation shaft that created quite a bit of noise, thus the "e" rating on the condition of the room - otherwise it would have been a 5. This also is why Comfort is rated a 2: if it weren't for the noise, I would have rated the room a 5. Poor planning was also shown in the locations of the "High Fi Lounge," where the brochure stated I could relax with a glass of wine. The "Lounge: is not staffed and has no drinks; and is also located directly under the Fitness Center, which creates an unbearable sound in the room, certainly not a room to "lounge" in - more of a torture chamber. But again, the staff were outstanding and if I can get a quiet room, I will probably stay here again, as I go to Mountain View for theatre and dance. Ďalšie informácie

"It's ok"
Nice hotel, good customer service. However, there were extra charges on my credit card for water (which I didn't touch but they charged me for it anyway) and watching a movie... not worth it. For the price, upgrade to a better hotel.

"Very nice hotel"
We stayed here for the week between Christmas and New Years. Very nice hotel. Breakfast was a full breakfast every day and very well done. Even with Asian items! The special rate made this hotel even more desirable. Enjoyed our stay there for 2 nights. Great location, good rooms and unique furnishings as well. Definitely a comparable value, if not better, than some of the other chain hotels. Will definitely be in my list as a keeper.
"Clean Good Hotel with amenities close by"
We stayed 1 night during our stay in the area. Our family member stayed in the nearby Best Western hotel and they paid higher/night than us. The difference between quality of this hotel/room/service and best western is huge. This hotel excel in all the above. We'd recommend this hotel to any friend who'd like to visit that area.

"Hotel Avante- a wonderful surprise!"
We were more than surprised with our recent stay at Hotel Avante in Mountain View CA. We always stay at a Marriott, but as they were full for the holidays, we chose Hotel Avante due to it's price and proximity. The outside was attractive, the person who checked us in was very helpful, especially as it was late, our room was larger and nicer than expected […] and the amenities were better than a Marriott! Our adult kids had a room also and were very amused with the "games" in the desk ( Rubik's cube, slinky, etch-a-sketch). Breakfast was another surprise as we expected a danish and coffee. "Excellent but for the wash basin"
I didn't find out until the next morning, when I was getting ready to shave and make my escape, that the drain plug in the wash basin was broken, so I was unable to fill it with hot water for a good wash and shave. Other than that, the hotel was very good, especially for the discounted price that I got through hotels.com

Lovely hotel experience! Comfortable beds, impeccable linens, spotless bathroom, nice carpet -- it has it all. The breakfast items are abundant and delicious. Front desk personnel cordial and efficient.
"Good Stay..."
Not a bad stay at all. The hotel is marketed as a business traveler friendly hotel however the room did not have a work desk or office chairs where I could work; just a couple of lounge chairs and a cocktail table. Of course there is a business center but a lot of like/have to work from our rooms. Not a bad stay overall.

Seems like an average hotel on the outside. However, you will feel refreshed by the attention given to every detail, from the hallway decor to the friendly, and well trained, staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff very accomodating, pillows were great, we were asleep in seconds. Wish we weren't facing the road though Breakfast was extremely good, scrambled eggs were perfect and the sausages were delicious. The oatmeal was exactly as I like it. Would definitely stay there again, only sorry that we never got time to use the pool.

"Europe out of Traffic"
Everyone knows that California traffic on the 101 is horrific. This hotel is calm away from that. It has a Euro feel with comfortable, well-equipped rooms, albeit small by, say, DoubleTree standards. But, the bed was comfortable, the towels fantastic and the breakfasts nearly Euro style although the advertised fish never was presented. The front desk […] staff was courteous. The breakfast staff efficient. But, like all of California, expect to drive or be driven to the city, silicon valley or wherever. This hotel is convenient to the 101 to get to SFO or SJC. It is convenient to get to Palo Alto. Parking is sufficeint, well-lighted. If there were a complaint, we were 'kicked-out' of our room at 1600 on Saturday for cleaning because the housekeeping staff quit at 1600. Nevermind that we left at 1000 and didn't return until 1500. Fortunately, we had booked three rooms. One went to one room to finish up with make up. I went to the lobby to wait. The front desk apologized and gave me a glass of reasonable wine to make the wait easier. But, the rrom should have been made up earlier. Nevertheless, the front desk was courteous. I didn't complain. They volunteered. Bottom line: If you are styaing in the Silicon Valley area and you don't want a chain hotel this is the place to stay. When we return, we will stay there. The bed was just a bit soft for my taste, but some people like that. Everything else about the stay was good.

A cheap hotell with great breakfast and clean, comfortable rooms. What else can one ask for? The location is off but in a good neighbourhood. It is an excellent choice if visiting Silicon Valley or if you are on a road trip the night before entering the (expensive) San Francicso. Most bang for the buck during our two week road trip!

Very good hotel overall. Service and value were both pretty good. Hotel parking is very crammed so be careful if you a drive a large vehicle. Also, you should know that there are no vending machines anywhere in the hotel so come prepared. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of options. Enjoy!

Service is good, room is comfy, love the king sized bed. Sheets were very nice. It was a very pleasant sleep. I'd recommend staying here. Like others have said, it looks a lot nicer on the inside than the outside.

I LOVED this hotel! Very cute, clean rooms which include all sorts of extra amenities - they just about thought of everything! And you can't beat the breakfast...delicious. Only 4 miles from the Shoreline Amphitheater, Definitely recommended, and great price.
