Very over rated...would NOT stay again. It was lovely but the price is insane...particularly when there are many close hotels for 1/3 the price! And for that kind of money, they did NOT even provide breakfast...it was $20...crazy.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely but could have been a little larger. The location was excellent and I would definitely stay there again. What can I say but that this is truly a wonderful place to stay in Charleston! My husband and I spent 3 nights there to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. I am very picky and we spent a great deal of time researching the area and the properties available to get a unique and memorable place to stay since this was a special occasion for us. Everything […] we read about the Planters Inn was true. The location is right in the middle of everything in downtown Charleston and you don't need a car once you are checked in. The service, the staff, the food, the room and the property are flawless. We could not have asked for a better place. I cannot imagine that anyone would be disappointed by a stay here! We spent a short weekend here, and it was very nice in every way. We have stayed at nearly all the downtown hotels and this one is right near the top. The location at the end of the Market, on Meeting St is perfect for ta tourist. The Penninsula Grill attached is one of if not the best restaurant in Charleston, and they also run a very good Italian […] "Mercato" next door and Hanks Seafood in the next block. located in the nice Historic area,the kids and I with my husband had a nice walk in the market,shops,and the beautiful classic homes around especially by the harbor.Weather was wonderful in late Dec. to walk around the Historic area...beautiful parks as well that kids enjoyed to play there

I have stayed in charleston ten times. Twice I was lucky enough to stay at the planters inn. Most recently over this past thanksgiving holiday. This hotel is just about perfect. It's just the right size...not so small to lack privacy, but not to big to be impersonal. The decor of the lobby, living room, and restaurant is absolutely lovely, not to mention […] the magical courtyard garden and fountain. Southern elegance, but warm and inviting. The service is perfect. As good as anywhere I have stayed (and I am very well travelled!). Everyone is helpful, warm, sincere, and seems happy to spoil the guests in any way they can think of. The rooms are very nice, the shower is great, and the rooms are spotless. The location couldn't be better for visiting charleston. I can rarely recommend a hotel without at least some reservation. Room very pretty and location is great. Attitude of staff is "snooty". I suspect they knew I got my room at a discount via hotels.com. I expected a nicer bed. It must be at the end of the life cycle. It had a "crown" in the middle. Peninsula Grill very expensive, but very good.

We had a fantastic stay in this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff. The hotel was situated right in the historic area, close to all the local attractions, mostly within walking distance. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Planters Inn is a lovely hotel. So convenient to everything in historic downtown Charleston. You can walk to dinner, to the galleries, to College of Charleston. We never needed a car! We loved the beautiful living room on the main level of the hotel. It's filled with newspapers and books and there is complimentary lemonade and tea in the afternoon, […] coffee and tea in the morning. The staff at the Planters Inn were very helpful and friendly, from the front desk to the bellmen to the housekeeping staff. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We stayed in a King deluxe room. The room itself was a decent size, nothing to large but had enough space to be comfortable. Huge jacuzzi tub and huge 4 post bed. Very comfortable room which was cleaned twice daily. Chocolates were left every evening also. The staff were very friendly and helped us organize […] taxis and excursions. Its located on Market st and you are right in the center of things when you leave the hotel. Great hotel located central to all the good things Charleston has to offer -- food, shopping, architecture and sites! A lovely room with a four poster bed was very quiet and comfortable for two! Lovely view as well! The service was very courteous and prompt. A gem of a small hotel!

Stayed at Planters as we dropped our daughter off at college. Great location. Great people service. Clean, spacious, well-appointed rooms. The Penninsula Cafe with cocktail bar and restaurant round out the experience. We'll be back for parents' weekend.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Charleston. The staff is amazing! I stayed two nights, but with one night at another hotel in between stays. They remembered who I was was and even even kept a lost item for me until I returned. Highly recommended!!

We were only there for one night but will definitely look to stay on our return trip in a few months. The staff was courteous and efficient. The hotel has "old time" charm with modern conveniences.

The inn is on the corner of Meeting and North market streets. We walked everywhere in this little pocket of commerce and we were also easily able to get to the battery. It was very hot during our visit, but the inn was our cool oasis.

My wife and I decided to spend a weekend in Charleston for our 1 year anniversary. We absolutely loved staying at Planter's Inn. It's right between East Bay Street (beach bars) & King St (shopping & great restaurants). The room was very spacious - we actually received a complimentary upgrade from Queen to King suite! Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown... great people and rooms... and located across from the markets within walking distance of the carriage rides and waterfront.

The Planter's Inn met our expectations and then some. We checked in on the 4th of July around 3:00 PM. The doormen came to help us right away, gathered our luggage and park our car. I was concerned about where the car would be parked, but the valet assured me that there was a private gated lot in back of the hotel. I had the opportunity to see the lot […] later and in my judgment it was secure. Check in was fast and easy. We asked for a recommendation for dinner and were told about the Hotel's Peninsula grill and the multiple awards it has received. The clerk got us a reservation right away. Our room was very clean and decorated well. My wife and I were very pleased. We came back downstairs to head out for some sightseeing. In the side sitting room off the lobby was fresh iced tea and lemonade, delicious! We walked around downtown Charleston for a few hours before dinner. The hotel location is excellent for walking to the downtown hot spots. Dinner at the Hotel was fantastic!! My wife had the swordfish and I had a steak. Excellent preparation, fast and courteous wait staff and the food was delicious. After dinner we walked back to the point to watch fireworks. When we returned our room had been prepped for the night. The storm shutters were closed and noise and excess street light were blocked out. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept soundly. Check out time is noon so it allowed ample time for us to head out for breakfast and a little more shopping before leaving the hotel. All in all, an excellent experience. I had checked some other downtown properties online before booking the Planter’s Inn and I am confident that we made the right choice. Job well done!! Ďalšie informácie

I made this reservation for my daughter & her husband for their 9th wedding anniversary. They loved every minute. The special arrangements I made with the resident manager were carried out to perfection. I can't wait to visit myself.

Very nice hotel in a great location just across the street from the newly opened / renovated Charleston City Market. As other reviewers have noted it can be a little noisy in the hotel given the location but it's noting a couple of drinks in the evening can't cure. The bed was very comfortable and overall the room was very nice but will need some updating […] soon (ex. they still have tube TV's and the bathroom counters and vanity are a little dated). Of the three hotels we've patronized, this one was definitely a best in show experience. The service was excellent, the rooms were gorgeous and well maintained, and the location can't be beat (close enough to walk to Marion Park, Battery Park, all the restaurants and shops).

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here, and it is consistantly one of the best experiences I've ever had at any hotel. You will not be sorry you stayed at this hotel.

Excellent care in a historic venue. Close to many Charleston attractions, top notch service and great meals in house

I hate to tell too many people what a wonderful small hotel/inn this is ..everythiing was wonderful...staff ..rooms ..location...not cheap ...but worth the money...Charleston was a treat and this hotel made it even more special....
