Parking for guests was unreasonable. They allotted 1 car per room, which was realistic, however the establishment wanted to charge $20 extra per additional car we had after that allotment. Had it not been in a torrential down pour during our stay, I wouldn't have found it an issue. But considering the circumstances (rain) as well as the surplus of spots […] that were available during the time of our arrival, which indicated a high # of vacancies, thus yielding a large amount of open spaces; an exception could have easily been made. This is by no means the Ritz Carlton, but it's safe, clean, convenient, and inexpensive. It's 5 minutes from downtown, and it's located right off of the interstate and next to a hospital. Those factors add an element of safety in my opinion, as I would feel more afraid of being in a secluded area. It's not the nicest hotel you'll find, but for the price […] you can't do much better. I was only in Austin for about 15 hours total so all I did was change clothes, shower, and sleep there. If you need a cheap hotel, this one will do just fine. The only thing I found strange was that they asked for a deposit at the desk. It's not a big deal because they did give me the deposit back when I checked out, but still odd. Couldn't shut the bathroom door because the bottom hinge was loose and the screw was sticking out. The beds have those old school fitted bed spreads on them that are kinda gross. Very convenient to downtown.

Nice Ethiopian restaurant next door, but otherwise the place is terrible. Looks like it was furnished in the '60s and nothing has been replaced since then. Feels dirty and it's just under the I-35 elevated section, so it's noisy all night/day. I left after one night even though I'd reserved for two.

It wasn't too bad. The toilet was leaking but the beds were comfortable. I would probably stay there again if I am in the area. Also the price was very good.

Simple and humble hotel. Very convenient to work at the LBJ Library, 10-minute walk. Not many restaurants around, except for a good ethiopian restaurant next door. Good places for researchers and very cheap.

This is a motel that has seen better days. The rooms are old and they look like from something from the 70's. However, it is located about 5 min walk from the football stadium. It is also right next to the freeway but you really don't hear it. Only three lights worked..the restroom light would go out every couple of minutes..its fitlty..hotel looks run down and ghetto...sheets were dirty...I opened up my drawer and there were condoms there...the hotel does not look like the pictues..false!!!! Would never stay there again.. ****beware****

This hotel was exactly what the doctor ordered. We paid a fraction of what we would have otherwise paid at other very similar hotels for the ACL weekend. We were close enough to downtown/Zilker and our favorite perk/guilty pleasure Starseeds cafe was a walk across the street away. The hotel itself left nothing to write home about positively or negatively […] which is a good thing, as the price point often is accompanied by negative traits. Hotel was fine for the purpose of our trip to Austin. Went for the wvu/ut football game. Close to campus, but neighborhood too sketchy to walk around much. Take a cab to/from downtown, it's not too expensive. Staff was friendly enough and room was ok. Nothing too terrible, worth the price.

Near I-35, Its impossible to sleep.Room was so dirty. It seems they never clean bathroom. The tiles was so dirty!! its better to say "GROSS". I Never Recommend this Inn.

Definitely paid for the location way more than the condition of the hotel. Looks very old n worn down, could use some much better updating. Sheets and couch had cigarette burns. Carpet definitely needed a cleaning. Staff was nice however, decent breakfast. A little hard to find but called n staff was happy to help. On the access road of I35 south.

... Much like the prostitution business we're fairly certain was being run out of the hotel. Seriously. I lived in Austin recently, so I knew the area was safe, but it would seem bad to someone who didn't know the city. The staff was great, friendly, helpful. The hotel is disgusting. There was visible dirt on the furniture, I didnt want to take my shoes […] off, and the whole room was dingy. Not that the maids weren't doing their job, they are fine. It's just a cheap hotel ($100 less than anything nearby), near campus, that needs more attention from the corporate office which they'll never get because it's a cheap hotel near campus. This hotel is in a very convenient location to the university. That was the only good thing about it besides the cost. You get what you pay for.

If you are in town to party and you are on a limited budget, then only maybe consider this hotel. If not, don't be influenced by the "downtown" location or price. You will require a car/taxi to take you anywhere, and some sleeping pills to overcome the late night noise. (A set of nice headphones will be very helpful.)

I was very very disappointed in my stay at the Rodeway inn customer service was not good at all from management or the owner. I will never stay in the hotel again. the picture on the website it's not the Rodeway in Austin. I will not recommend staying in the hotel.

We expected more than we got, and we didn't expect much. When we arrived at 4:30 p.m. the room wasn't ready. The beds were satisfactory, but we slept poorly because the air-conditioner cycled very noisily on and off all night. There was no drain plug in the tub. The air vent in the toilet room was horribly noisy. On the other hand, the continental breakfast […] was acceptable, and the staff was pleasant. If you need a place to rest your head after a night in Austin, stay here. I've stayed here twice now, it is what it is, definitely not luxury, but the staff is nice and the rooms are clean.

The staff was friendly and helpful, but the area is a little sketchy, and there were a lot of loud kids around, hootin' and hollerin' all night. Good price, and they were the only hotel with vacancy so I'm going to go ahead and say "good enough".

We recieved our room and we went in to turn on the lights, but the buttons where gone. So went to look for a pen as we open the drawer to the desk, there was a pipe with drugs in it sitting there. The room was filthy, it was never cleaned Will never stay there or pay them their rates for a disgusting hotel! If you want to go to Austin. And have a dam good time. Stay at the Austin Motel, or the Driskill, or any hotel that costs a bit more. Trust me if you can afford it it's worth the money spent. If you don't mind sleeping in a dirt warm hotel, farther from the downtown area then you'd believe, with prices that you'd not really prefer for the area. Then […] go for it. The hotel was pretty close to downtown/night life. However, we didnt use the pool because it was dirty and disgusting. One of the beds had brown streaks all over the sheets, and the "neighborhood" wasnt anything Id walk around in late at night. We paid an obscene amount of money and only stayed one night- South by Southwest was going on at this time […] so I understand the hike in price but we should have stayed at a Motel 6. It was expensive but what I wanted was a good night's sleep and it was real quiet so I got that. I didn't eat the breakfast so cannot comment on that. I would have liked more restaurants nearby but the one that was close was quite satisfactory.
