"Great location - free beer!"
OK not really free beer like we thought - the cans were actually empty. And still left in the trash bins in our room! Right as we walked in, we knew something was off about the room. The soap bar wrappers were ripped off and left next to the soap...I guess they were never replaced. There was a used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door as well. […] We couldn't believe it was so neglected - like the housekeepers made the bed and that was it! We immediately called the front desk even though we had checked in so late at night. My husband was very polite, since it was 11:30pm. The front desk guy was very apologetic and professional about it saying he would speak to the manager. We ended up talking to the front desk before we left. In the end, they gave us one night free with no problem or argument. We would definitely come here again since it is a great price for the location (15 minute ride from French District - $20 flat rate fee). The hotel was moderately clean, however there was some type of biting insect in the room and too few working power outlets to charge a computer and phone while leaving a table light on. The WiFi was not strong enough to stream a movie and even the TV "paused" every 20 min. Very warm welcome by the staff. Free King Cake, chips, soda and water. The room was very clean, no bad odors. Had a king bed, microwave and refrigerator, recliner, and a large desk with 2 chairs. Only thing missing was a safe in the room, but front desk is willing to secure your valuable for you while out. Very comfortable for 2 of us. Continental breakfast […] was fine, nothing spectaular but enough to get the day going. We didn't use the maid service but when we asked to exchange towels we were restocked with everything. We stayed here for Super Bowl XLVII and were worried when we saw it was a 2 star hotel...but we had no choice because nothing else was available. Boy were we relieved when we arrived!
