La Quinta Inn John Wayne/Orange County Airport - Costa Mesa

We originally thought we'd booked at another hotel where we'd stayed before but decided to stick it out at La Quinta and are we ever glad we did. The location was perfect in it's proximity to freeways and to our family we were visiting. The breakfast selection was great ( I wish it lasted a little longer since we don't like getting up early on vacation) […] and the staff kept the dining area well stocked and clean. We were allowed to check out late and they even sent the shuttle to pick us up at a nearby location where we chose to hang out since we had a later flight home. We had a great stay, we got 2 rooms. The lady at the front was super nice, gave us some suggestions for things to do at night, etc. Will be back. Oh, and great price!

We stayed here because LaQuinta Inn allows dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This actually was the first thing my husband & I noticed. Our room had a musty odor, but the bed and bathroom were clean. For the price and the convenience of having our dogs it was a non-issue.

I had a very nice stay at this LaQuinta. Good service! It must be said, this was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in.

This hotel is clean, well maintained, and competently staffed. The general area is OK but the hotel is tucked into an area between the 405 freeway and a drainage channel that makes it less than easy to access. This hotel is older, a little cheaper, and has smaller rooms than another La Quinta a few miles away in Santa Ana, as well as what I expect from […] La Quinta. The free breakfast is disappointing when compared to the hot food offered at the other location, although I was happy with my orange, banana, apple juice and coffee as a light breakfast. I was very dissatisfied with my room due to the noise of freeway traffic throughout the night. I was in a second-floor room facing the freeway that happened to be the closest room to the freeway. I would recommend the Santa Ana location even though it costs a little more. If you can get a room facing away from the freeway this place would be OK. Ďalšie informácie

Safe neighborhood. Close distance to South Coast Plaza, Beach, and all around OC. Employees are nice and helpful. Clean! Has flat screen T.V. so I was able to hook my computer to it for movies, etc. Complimentary breakfast is decent. Mostly bagels, frozen waffles, cereals. Nothing fancy. This is obviously not luxory, but it is well worth the price […] you pay. If you just want to stay in a clean, safe, convenient, and cheap place, this is a great spot. If you are looking for a place relative to a Marriot or Radisson, this is not the place for you. Tip: I requested a non-smoking room away from the 405 freeway as per other other reviews. The hotel is in an area where your close to the south coast plaza mall as well as residential places to eat and shop. There is a restaurant that is right next to the hotel and the security patrolling the floors gives the sense that it is safe.

We thought we registered for Ajoining rooms and ended up with two rooms on positive sides of the hotel so that is something to lookout for. We have learned with Ajoining room requests, we must call to confirm.

This is OK. My buddy told me that La Quinta Oceanside was excellent. However LQ John Wayne Airport is dated and faded. Its time for a rehab! It will do in a pinch. But one would expect more for Orange County. The only plus is that it is next door to HootersRestuarant! (On purpose due to filter that states inappropriate)

I booked two rooms well over five weeks in advance and even called to have both rooms next to one another and was told that that was the common practice for two rooms and not to worry. Well it didn't happen add to that the bathroom was filthy and I found bugs and other little things still hanging out in the shower so I don't know what the rest of the […] first room was like but after moving, at least this time there appeared to have been some sense of cleaning completed the next room was old and very much in need of a face lift but the bed was still comfortable despite the lack of concern by the management and staff of my requests for close proximity to the other room. I won't say it is awful but I cannot say it is deserving of anything other than what I have rated it. after driving 650 miles check in at the hotel on the second floor and the keys didn't work. was tired and then had to go back to office and get key problem fixed. after settling in and going to the bathroom the toilet didn't flush. called office and they said they would change our room to the 3rd level., had to pack up again and go to a different room. […] the air condition didn't work and it was 88 degrees in the room. called office and hours later man came to work on air condtioning but it really didn't work at all or that well. we were very tired after are long drive to go thru all of this!!!! i was very disappointed with the service and help at the front desk and all systems should be working or i shouldn't of paid this much or ot a credit back. The only real concern I had was the noise from the freeway. I know that there really isn't much that can be done. Otherwise, the staff was great, the hotel room was clean, and it was affordable. Definitely will come back.

The price was right and everything with the room was fine. BUT My fault for not checking a head of time because it did not have a microwave or a small frig wich would have come in handy. If you didn't need those things this would have been fine, Also if your a light sleeper always ask for a room facing away from the 405 freeway.

for literally a few dollars more than a Motel 6 this hotel provides as good of a bed as I have slept on at ANY hotel...the rooms are modern fresh clean and spacious..the staff is great...having the hdtv was nice too...right off the 405...a hop skip and a jump away from beaches, Disney and Knots Berry Farm...don't hesitate to book this hotel...you can't […] beat the quality/price ratio Ďalšie informácie

We've stayed at this hotel four times because of the location. Staff very cordial and helpful. Rooms are clean. We ask for room location away from freeway noise.

Sheets n linens are super old ... And not warm at all ...

Made my reservation and the hotel was not prepared even at 5 pm. The only available room was a smoking room even though I asked for non smoking. :(

The bathroom was too small. There was not much room to spread stuff out. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable.

A restful stay in a clean, well furnished, comfortable room. Efficient, attentive staff. Good breakfast. Shower valve needed maintenance.

Low quality room that smelled like an ashtray. Someone had smoke in the bathroom. The desk said nothing they could do because we had booked through a third party. Not going back.

GOOD: beds are comfy, convenient location near food shopping and entertainment as well as the beach... BAD: checked in to find my keys didn't work went downstairs and got new keys...THOSE didn't work either...the battery was dead on the latch maintenance man half assed the job. We were disappointed with the cost of getting to the airport, could have stayed closer to the airport at a much nicer place and came out ahead, after paying $20 for a cab ride. This hotel did not reflect our experince with La Quinta in the past. The rate was very low, however, the grounds around the pool were dirty. The towels and other samples products were meager. The coffee pot in room was disfunctional. The breakfast was below par. The motel is showing it's age. It is clean, but carpeting was stained in some places. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom needs updating. Location was shared with a Restaurant. Really too close to the freeway.

The beds were super comfy, it was very clean and right off the freeway. The price was excellent too!

Shuttle serv was cab. No shuttle to airport. In the morning. Bed was terrible.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and a very good value for the price we paid. Had three days of meetings in Costa Mesa and this hotel was located very conveniently to the freeway, airport and business center. I’d stay there again.

Front desk staff were excellent and very, very helpful, as much as they could be. Non-smoking room smelled like someone just smoked in it. Hotel is next to loud Ho_oters restaurant and their patrons took up many of the hotel parking spots. Very nice room, nice pool you can swim till 10PM. The fridge and microwave came in handy. Very nice comp. breakfast too.
