Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina - San Diego

We had a very nice stay at the Hyatt. The rooms and the views were beautiful. They were very kind in upgrading our children's room to our floor. We would recommend the hotel.

Beautiful hotel and convenient to SeaWorld but not to downtown.

Great view of the ocean and very nice pool. Easy to get to from the airport

Great location for Sea World. Not much else around if you don't have a car. We stayed in the suites and found them noisy in the mornings. The walkway is tiled and people moving luggages or room service trolleys are very noisy. As is the door unlock on the way to the marina. Room itself was great but the noise overrides the room unfortunately.

Went for a family weekend and had a nice rate via hotels.com. However, this Hyatt property is lacking in a few ways - no "decent" coffee, the coffeemaker was either missing a part or cartridge, the housekeeping was a little so-so. I mean, I have a preschooler and it's not cool to find a (presumably used) tissue next to one of the beds (up by the headboard) […] in the bedroom. The rooms are remodeled but still "feel" old. I also don't like the Hyatt's "ginger jasmine" soap theme - it's cloying. There are also limited dining options. The Red Marlin on property is great for breakfast albeit pricey. Dinner was also OK but expensive. But the SWIM cafe - guys, you can do interesting, organic, live food without being BORING. I felt like I was on the Food Network where the judges say the food is boring and trying hard to be something else. The TV is basic cable and I think for what you pay you should be able to be upgraded to get a few of the premium channels. There was no channel appropriate for the littlest kid in our party like Disney or cartoons that she could watch during down time. The service was good all around, though I never did access or get my $75 per day "resort credit", whatever that was supposed to be. My daughters enjoyed the pool. Not likely to be back. We had a great experience at this hotel. It was very centrally located in San Diego. The pool and waterslides were great for the kids. The conceriege was very helpful. We had a lovely time!

This Hotel claims and tries to be something that it isn't, Located in a run down mariner, the Hotel itself is very dated and tarted up to look better than it is. Self parking was very expensive.

We researched hotels for a very long time looking for something to fit our needs. We have a toddler and baby so we needed a hotel that had suites, but not at an outrageous price. So glad we found the Hyatt at Mission Bay. The room was perfect...once the kids went to bed in their room we still had our room that exited onto the balcony where we could […] relax. All in all this place was great, I do wish they offered breakfast with our stay considering our stay for one night was $382. Other then that the place was nice and clean. The only other issue was the seals constantly hunking (I think that is the right word) all night long.

Maybe the tower is better, but the 2 story MOTEL buildings from the 70's they put us in were old, smelly, and dirty. you couldn't open the windows for fresh air cause the raised freeway is the same height as our second story window and about 200 feet away so the motorcycle racing felt like it was in your ear. so take your pick, close the window and […] smell the stink or open the window and listen to semi trucks all night. Very disappointed at 4 star cost for 2 star roadside motel. don't be fooled by the photos like i was. pool is beautiful but thought i was getting the tower and not the MOTELS on the same property. After reading some of the other reviews I was a bit nervous as to what we would encounter during our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I did notice that the top drawer of the dresser did come open after putting clothing in it but I folded up a piece of paper to help wedge it close and it worked fine. The room key was a bit tricky […] and had to try several times before we could get the door open but we didn't contact anyone about it, we just dealt with it. Had we contacted someone about it I'm sure it would have been taken care of. The room was very clean and our view was amazing. Very nice hotel. Great pool. However, the pool stays open until 11:30pm and they play very loud music until that time. I figured I would make it up by sleeping in, but the music and pool starts back up again at 8:00am. One day a high pressure washer cleaned the pool area down at 7:30am and it was extremely loud. Also, there are three pools, but none […] are designated for kids or adults so the hundred or so kids ruled all three. They should really have one that adults can relax in. I had my kid so this didn't bug me too much, but it was obvious that the adults without kids were pretty much excluded from using the pool in peace. The kids remained until 11:30 each night. This was a great place for us and our young children to stay. It was close to almost everything we wanted to see in San Diego. The pool and waterslides were great. The only bad part of our stay was the valet service. It was very slow, especially considering we were paying $25/day for it.

We took our family vacation for 5 days at the Hyatt and were overwhelmed with the perks! Waterslides were fun, food at Swim poolside bar was fantastic and the water taxi to Seaworld was a pleasant surprise! The beds were super comfy and we loved waking up to "Honky" the seal each morning. The Einstein Bagel Company on the property makes the best mushroom, […] spinach and egg sandwiches on your choice of bagel; we picked them up with coffee / hot chocolate each morning for under 20.00 (three person family!) and ate on our balcony overlooking the beautiful marina. The only downfall was the Main restaurant, the Red Marlin. We had a late dinner after Seaworld, ordering a scallop-pasta dish and a couple appetizers to snack on; the crabcakes are one to an order for 16.00 and tasted very fishy...like catfood; the rest of the dishes were just so-so, we drank only water and the bill was over 90.00! The best hidden secret is the Sportsman's Seafood fish and chips right along the marina, walking distance from the hotel. Inexpensive and fresh from the Bay! We were discouraged from trying this wonderful find by Joseph the concierge; when he said It's really like a fish market, only the fishermen eat there". Our answer was, "That's exactly what we needed to hear!" I would have given five stars for service if it had not been for the snooty attitude of this employee. The rest of the staff was extremely polite, including Duane our Bellman who explained all the assets of the hotel as well as the surrounding area. This hotel is next to all the major freeways but is nestled in beautiful tropical gardens, with firepits in the evening and even a "smores" area for the kids. I would definitely return to the Hyatt! My wife, toddler son and I spent 3 nights a the Hyatt in mid-August. The pools with the slides are great, but it go so crowded on Saturday that half the people had to "lounge" on folding chairs. No prob the other days though. Morning fog that can hang around made for better days away from the hotel. Bike paths link you to a loop of the entire bay, which […] is nice. Many cool and casual restaurants were within 1 -2 miles but scarcely anything is within walking distance. The water taxi to Sea world got us an hour in near solitude as we beat all the driving public to the park - pretty nice. Friendly staff. $20/day parking is kind of lame, but not that unusual. Great for kids, you can take a boat shuttle to Sea World...or have burgers poolside. Very nice people..definitely a great choice.

We were traveling with two adults and one 4 year old... we wanted a "nice" hotel with beach/ocean views. We couldn't have found a better place. The views were amazing. The recently remodeled hotel felt swanky and new and clean. Plenty of kids activities, great pool, easy access to Mission Beach and Sea World. We are very happy we chose to stay here […] and will stay again I'm sure! The only #4 rating I gave out of 5 stars was for Cleanliness of room. This is because the maid staff cleaned and organized our room meticulously the 1st time. Day 2 was not as thorough and Day 3 they ran out of clean cups and small towels. Great Hotel!! The view we had of the water was amazing. It feels like you are in a mini resort in a tropical location. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

We spent 3 days at this hotel and did not want to leave. The whole family enjoyed our stay. It was close to the zoo, the beach, Gaslamp district and La Jolla activities. The staff was super and very accommodating. We had one glitch at check in because our hotels.com reservation had our first and last name reversed. While the booking through hotels.com was not a disappointment the Hyatt Hotel was. Everyone I talked to said the Hyatt was usually a classy hotel and very upscale and after viewing prices I really thought it would be. Sadly I must say the Hyatt at the marina in San Diego was a dissapointment. When I tried to check in, my room was not ready they did […] however offer me a hadicapp room and although similar the bathroom set up was not quite what I wanted. The Hotel also was outdated and there seemed to be this old smell to it which most hotels have but for the price I would have thought they would have had a air freshner in the room. Even though this is an older hotel (our A/C didn't work very well), the location and staff were excellent. We were 10-15 minutes from everything we wanted to do- beach, Gaslamp, Petco Park, Zoo, Old Town, La Jolla. Overall, Very pleased with this hotel.

Very nice hotel, great pool with water slides, great ocean views. Balcony was nice, except smoking rooms below made it unusable. On checkout, we were charged for a breakfast at their fancy restaurant. It took 20 minutes for them to figure out.. that the breakfast charge was the morning on the day we checked in at 3pm, thus were were not responsible […] for the charges. They were rude in their suspicion of us and unapologetic. Even though it was clear that we were not responsible and it was an error on their side to charge customers that haven't checked in yet. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were roomy. The kids loved the pools, and the slides. Camp fires at night were a fun touch as well. Our only complaint was that there was limited dining and it was all a little pricey.

We initially chose this resort because it had poolside service and a restaurant on location. The restaurant was so over-priced! $23 for a pork chop! The pools were over-run with out-of-control children running and the constant sound of breaking glass! Our idea of spending some quiet time by the pool or even in the jacuzzi were dashed when EVERY single […] time we looked out our window, the jacuuzi had no less than 20 kids in it. Why doesn't Hyatt impose a few rules so that adults can have some quiet time? We were also charged 7.00 delivery for room service, and were told the internet was free, but when we went on line and sure enough, there was a charge for it. I called the desk and after I told them how disgusted I was with this nickel and diming, they gave me the pass code. One more thing, we paid for an upgrade and were given a discount since it was our anniversary but we were supposed to get a king bed with premium view. We ended up in a room with 2 queens. You really are paying for the location and the pool slides for this hotel. Every convenience they offer was an extra fee.

For as busy as the city was our stay at the resort was exceptional!

Parking sucked for an extra $20 a night...spaces were tiny ....real tiny !!!!!!!

This Hyatt Regency at Mission Bay is somewhere between a Best Western and a Four Seasons. Very nice, comfortable rooms with nice views, but small bathroom. One restaurant on site, fairly pricy ($100 for two), and an Einstein's Bagels or room service otherwise. Room service was cheaper than the high end places I have stayed, that's nice. Terrific pools […] for the kids - even had waterslides! The comfort of the room was top notch. Just a smaller bathroom and closet, less dining options and less shuttle service made you realize it wasn't everything the very expensive places are. They wouldn't even drop you at SeaWorld, which they claim you can walk to. That would be one loooooong walk - plus all the walking you do in the park all day - and then the long walk home. Ridiculous. They have a water taxi service, but it is only available Sat & Sun. When taking a taxi from the airport, be sure to mention that the Hotel said there was a flat rate of $20, otherwise you'll be paying twice that. I didn't know until we were taking the taxi BACK to the airport - so I was out all that extra money. Irritating. That's not the hotel's fault, but if they had a shuttle to the airport (10-15 minutes away), it wouldn't be an issue. Ďalšie informácie

The Hyatt Regency at Mission Bay was WONDERFUL! From the room- to the staff- to the pool and spa- we had great experiences across the board during our four day stay at the Hyatt. Originally, we were slated to stay for two nights- but we were so happy with the location and comfort that the Hyatt provided to us- that we extended our stay for two additional […] nights over the holiday weekend- even at holiday prices. We went to a wedding that was at this location. The rooms was comfortable and the service was wonderful. Fair warning, you will pay for everything extra! The bride wanted to have her guests who checked in get a goodie bag she made up. Cost extra. to have the front desk would hand out the bags. If you want to see water from your room, upgrades are available. […] Don't drink that small bottle of water in your frig...$$$ Limited places to walk for "cheaper food" . Be careful at poolside as they take a count of the beach towels you borrow and will charge a lot for each towel not returned. Bring a drink from your room to the pool and "security guard" will ask you to pour it out (they sell drinks from the pool bar). Beautiful grounds and the view is great...we did upgrade for it. Excellent hotel with excellent service. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a beautiful view and friendly service. Need to drive to town, but is short trip. Family oriented for children.

Everyone was so pleasant and welcoming, the grounds are beautiful, the pools are relaxing, I went to the spa which was really good, and the location overlooking Mission Bay makes for some unbelievable sunsets. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Pool area was AMAZING! Hotel service was good too. Room not exactly perfectly cleaned. Our balcony windows were full of bird excrement. Probably not something that van be easily cleaned, but still took away from the enjoyment. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner, did find hairs on the walls and back of door. Loved the pool and the grounds but […] be aware things are very pricey and the parking charge is just ridiculous. No free internet either which would be a good perk. The pool area is great although they had trouble keeping the towels stocked on the busier days. The suite we reserved was not available when we checked in but after waiting several minutes they found us a regular room and moved us to the suite the next day. They did give us a hotel credit and free parking for the trouble. The suite was good size with […] comfortable beds. Our stay at the Hyatt was enjoyable, very comfortable, and we enjoyed the fact that it was very kid friendly. We will be visiting again as the weather gets nicer through out the summer : )

Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The room type that we wanted was sold out for the last two nights of our stay so we had to make two separate reservations and the staff was extremely helpful and did everything they could to make sure that the room switch went smoothly - with two children, a boat load of luggage and a full day planned the […] staff definitely saved our day. Waterslides were excellent! It was chilly the week we were in San Diego but the waterslides and pools were heated to a very comfortable temp. My 5 year old was in the pool every single day. The pool by the waterslides was also great for my 2 year old because it had a shallow end that he could wade in. Hotel condition was excellent. The hotel grounds and both of our rooms were in great shape. Hotel location was okay. 15 minutes to downtown San Diego, a couple minutes to Mission Beach (possibly walkable, though we didn't spend any time at Mission Beach so I don't know).
